I really am curious where you guys stand. If we do land a TOP 5 Pick do you think we'd keep it?
The only way I see us making that pick is if we know for sure Zion is leaving. Other than that I think its getting traded for whats left of the war chest for a superstar

It would depend on the superstar. And it would have to be someone that makes us contenders which at this rate idk who that would be. So with that I’d prefer to keep the pick

The question is who?
Golden State has been playing that game for two years now and got nothing out of it.
Maybe you could do BI + a top 5 pick for Lillard, but I’m not sure you’d want to unless Lillard turns it around. But you’d also still be insanely lacking in depth.

I think we only become contenders in that scenario, if Zion is who he is supposed to be. But you'd trust us to make that pick given our draft history?

pels will be picking top 10. no pg is currently rated in top 10.
Like I said, look above your post, keep an eye out.
Dyson Daniels is currently playing Point Guard for the Ignite and has MASSIVELY improved in just one year, added 2 inches in height, rebuilt his jumper into a smooth stroke and knocking down both catch and shoot and off dribble threes with impressive efficiency.
TheStepien article compares him to Malcolm Brogdon and Dejounte Murray. But that stroke looks legit so far, better than Murray’s at 25.
The sample size is too small to get excited, but keep an eye on him.
The kind of player that on paper looks to be a good fit with BI/Zion.

I think the strength of the draft, willingness to take on Wiggins, and teams not wanting to help them played into that quite a bit though. I personally wouldn't move ingram in this scenario, but I think guys like Shai (If you believe in him), D. Fox ( If you believe in him) Simmons, and few other guys could be available.
FWIW I actually think Fox or Murray could had this season if both teams decide to just blow it up. The kings have a lot of good guards on the roster and may want to get off the contract

Shai I’m skeptical of because OKC seems weirdly anchored to keeping Shai, but I think you are probably right about Fox and Murray(assuming you mean Dejounte).
But I think the Fox costs you BI and the pick because that team also wants to win now and the latter I’m not sure is an ideal fit unless you somehow get a player like Buddy that seriously stretch’s the floor.
For me, I’m just sort of riding the season, hoping we tank hard enough to get into the top 5 and go from there. Some guys like Dyson Daniels and AJ Griffin have stood out early and am curious how they look as the season goes on.

quote:has he? Everytime I see his box score he’s barely playing and going 1-4 with 3 points. Even if he’s playing elite defense, he’s logging hardly any minutes this season
AJ Griffin have stood out early

Thats fair, but the crazy part is we still don't know who picked the duds lol

TBC I’m not sold on either of those players yet.
They are just players I’m keeping an eye on.
When Griffin has got minutes he produced, so it made me do a head turn and has my attention.
Currently 52% from the field, 46% from three.

I’d imagine tho both Trajan and Griff would get canned. Trajan gets too much praise or lack of frustrations imo. What has he done that shield him from the same types of criticisms as Griff (excluding the weird Zion relationship bits)
Posted on 11/22/21 at 10:53 pm to Macintosh
Agreed.
Either Trajan was an accomplice in the bad decisions or his leadership and voice is so poor he has allowed himself to be sidelined. Either way, not what I would want in a POBO

I think you have to keep them both or move on from both at this point. Griff brought a lot of bad press upon himself, not to mention leaks from bad coaches (Gentry) and craving too much camera time. Otherwise we’d be putting most of this on Trajan. I can’t blame either one of them for the players underperforming but I don’t know who to trust with decision making at this point

That's not the list of a weak draft! This draft will go 7-8 players who at least project to be good players. I love Chet! If this was 80s-90s basketball he'd scare me but the NBA is no longer a physical league. He'll be fine.

I'm Team Chet now my dudes. I'm sold. 100% backing the Chet cause on this board from here on out

Ivey looks amazing tbh
Reminds me of a Fox/Lamelo Ball type prospect with his elite speed and seemingly generational type passing coupled with his vision.
Only knock on Ivey is probably his long range jumper, but it’s been a small sample size so far.

I really want to watch him tonight. They are playing UCLA, who is #2 in the nation. UCLA is not a big team. So Timme and Holmgren should feast. Should be a really good game..

Yeah he's been really impressive so far. He changes gears very well too. Like you said, the shooting is the only concern, but I do like that he's had major improvements in pretty much every statistical category from his freshman season including 3PT and FT%. We'll see how that holds up as the sample size increases.
I'm really excited to see Kendall Brown against better competition. He's another one with shooting questions, but he looks like the real deal in pretty much every other facet. Looks like he has a pretty good feel for the game.
