The Spurs are fielding offers for Dejounte Murray and have told multiple interested teams it would take a “Jrue Holiday-like package”, per @JakeLFischer

Ousmane Dieng wowed the Pelicans in a private workout and is under serious consideration at No. 8, per @DraftExpress.
Believe it was the Locked On draft guy that said Dieng wouldn't comment on who he worked out for. He said that usually means a guy is in play for teams higher than people think.

We wouldn’t be in play. I just hope he goes East and the Spurs don’t get the package they want.

Jake Fischer @JakeLFischer · Atlanta and San Antonio have discussed a deal that would swap John Collins for Dejounte Murray, sources said. Spurs have told interests teams that moving Murray would require a "Jrue Holiday-like package." More league-wide trade notes @BR_NBA:

Jrue Holiday-like package
So some late firsts, a few swaps and salary filler. I'd do it.

A Murray-Young backcourt would be interesting

If they are getting Collins they aren’t getting 3 1sts.

I feel like the Hawks are close to just blowing it up and I don't know why...

I think it’s hilarious that some people absolutely love Daniels but absolutely hate the idea of Dieng. They’re similar in a lot of ways but Dieng having a higher offensive ceiling while Daniels has the higher defensive ceiling.

From a simplistic point of view they’re similar, but I think Daniels is already things that people hope Dieng will be, while also already being things there’s no evidence to suggest Dieng will ever be.

Take defense first, Daniels comes into the league as a plus defender, on and off ball. He projects as a lock down guy. Dieng, for all his tools and upside, won’t be a plus defender coming in. Even at his best, I don’t think it will ever be as good as Daniels best. I don’t think Dieng is a great lateral athlete and I think he has some defensive awareness things to work on.

Then you take rebounding, Dieng for his size is a pretty poor rebounder. Daniels on the other hand is a really good rebounder. Grabbed 6 boards a game, had one with 18. Dieng only grabbed 3 a night, and only had one game where he surpassed 6 boards.

That’s just defensively, offensively I think Daniels is a better passer, displays better vision, gets downhill more, more willing to go into contact. Shooting wise, I certainly don’t think either are good shooters, but I would say Daniels is further along.

I just think Daniels is a much better all around prospect.

likely true if it’s a hawks trade although I’ve no idea why SA would want Collins. BTW, Murray isn’t half the player holiday is. Any team giving up that kind of haul for him is nuts

Everyone has been talking shite about how much they want for their players and every trade so far this season has been for chicken feed.

OKC got JaMychael Green for cap space and a very late 1st.

Dallas got Christian Wood for a pupu platter of expirings and a late 1st.

Portland got Jerami Grant for a TPE and a future first.

This is either people overvaluing their players then getting what they can get or this just happens to be small potatoes players and the real fun has yet to begin.

As far as Murray goes, I think the idea is to make him run the offense while Trey is off ball so he can take advantage of openings.

Not what I would call great value for Atlanta but it may make Trey more efficient offensively and Murray is likely going to help their defense.

Playing Trae off the ball seems like an abject disaster.
