memphis offered a starter and several #1s at deadline. struck out.
bridges plays both ways.

trae is small and not a defender.

Mikal is gone. His value went even higher after his recent play with the Nets.

You guys realize majority of nba players are divas right? The difference is our diva sits on the bench while others play. Trae is a legit superstar and honestly one thing willie is good at it is working with these diva players. For you guys want a nba superstar without diva like tendencies, stop watching todays nba or go back to watching 80s bball. Superstars dont come on the trade market often or at all. And if we as an organization dont try to get him because of some diva tendencies then we have a problem. I really wonder how many of the same people didn’t want Trae also didn’t want KD. Look how that worked out? When a superstar who plays on the court is available you go get him.

Have you watched the NBA recently?

"Superstar" players are traded all the time. Durant just got traded.

Trae is a legit superstar

The Hawks are legit one of the top 5 most talented teams in the league and they are floundering. When a player gets a max there are greater expectations and responsibilities. He needs to be a leader and elevate those around him. Every notable source around here has confirmed Young is just not doing any of that..

People forget on this board that we barely ever beat the Hawks and they regularly come back and beat us in clutch time

And Trae Young is a big part of that.

He isn’t a perfect player, but he’s a damn good player. Generational court vision. A++ floater, lob thrower and drawing fouls game.

No one. But it is a deep team with underachieving talent up and down. It is difficult for me to name a stronger 2 deep in the league. They have no holes. Replace Young with any top 10-20 player and the team should be in the finals..

Yeah I just don’t see it. Let’s go through their starters other than young.

Murray- he’s good but not great
Collins- they can’t even give him away
Capella- great role player
Idek who their 5th guy is

Bogdan would be a good guy off the bench.
I do like the Bey trade but that team is not deep

Take young off that team and they’ll have the next 3 years #1 overall picks

This is the reason you can probably get him for not much

Oh and cj 33 mil < young 40 mil, I know he’s overpaid but it’s what our franchise had to do anyways. Didn’t we offer Lowry like 35 mil?

Every generation has guys who put up crazy numbers and make all-star teams but don't play winning basketball. That's him now.

Plus, he's a bad teammate and a coach-killer.

Trae Young is not worth much.

Agree with this.

Just because you made a bad offer does not justify making another one.

Trae Young is one of, if not the worst, perimeter defenders in the NBA, and has an offensive game that doesn't translate to winning. He has to have the ball in his hands at all times to be good offensively. If he doesn't have the ball in his hands, he is a negative offensively. Now look at Zion and BI's usage rate and tell me how he's NOT going to be a negative more often than not? Or you let him have the ball 80% of the time and watch Zion/BI become a shell of themselves. You gotta choose 1 of the 2.

And again, he played as many games as our best 2 players combined this season and led his team to less wins than us.

This is an easy pass.

Another thing is we have a solid culture and group of guys that seem to like playing together. That goes out the window real quick with a Trae Young team. His teams are never happy teams.

Who on the hawks team are you taking the ball out of his hands for? Where’s the example of this being true if he always has the ball? With BI or Zion actually being able to create open looks (unlike any of young’s teammates) u don’t think that would help?

Let’s use BI as an example. When he’s in the game with scorers he looks a lot better don’t he? But when u put him with the death lineup the league shrink doesn’t it?

The Hawks literally got a guy this season to do just that, and it's failed spectacularly. He's exactly like James Harden, if he doesn't have the ball in his hands, he stands 30 feet from the basket and does nothing.

Have you not watched this season?

No, having a guy who only wants the ball in his hands, pouts and does nothing/no movement when he doesn't will not help.

Cool, we can get spot up shooters for 1/5th the price who also don't shoot 33% from 3, let's do that instead.

For 1 we don’t have a fricking culture, we don’t even have an identity. For 2 that shite don’t win games just because they like each other

Draymond made a WHOLE TEAM tuck their tails between their legs by himself, if u value a fake culture and friendship on the court then you’re right let’s just stand pat with what we have and keep being friends mate

Not if all those games led his team to being worse than our injury ravaged team.

It sure as shite won't lose you games like having Trae Young on your team being a coach killer and making everyone on the team miserable.

You seem to think we don't have a solid culture because we aren't winning, which is silly. We're not winning because we're injured. We certainly have a solid culture built right now, 100000 times better than the Hawks do.
