Yeah I’m not worried about Trey. He’s not even halfway into his rookie season. He will figure it out and adjust to the speed of the game. Luckily, Herb is there to pick up the slack and give him some time to adjust.

Meh. He’ll be fine. He’s got lots of room to grow and learn. Give him a full off-season to buff up and develop his game. He’ll be a solid player for us for years to come.

Treys problem is he can't dribble.

Dude is terrified with the ball in his hands

Exactly. We'll just pretend we took Herb at 17 and Murphy at 35

Trey is only 19 so there's still plenty of time

which is crazy to think about considering he came out of HS as 6’4 guard. I wonder if the growth spurt has made it a little wonky for him still and hasn’t gotten used to it

I’ll give him a season and a half before dropping the verdict. He wasn’t some top 3 pick who is all star or bust. He was middle of the first round pick who was projected as rotation 3 and d guy.

Tre, like most of the Pels, is in need of a serious off-season strength program. Pelicans appear to be lagging in this area. Youth plays a part, but it's plainly evident. I don't get why the team doesn't make this a larger emphasis in their player development.

I am interested to see how they develop him and where he projects. He has the size and frame to develop into a stretch 4. I knew he wouldn't be able to play the same role that he did in college (perimeter lock down defender). Guards are just too savvy and quick.

He can get spot minutes for the rest of the year. Next year will be telling, if he can turn the corner. Good kid though, so I'm pulling for him. I really like this draft..

Don't confuse bulk with strength, all the players you list save for early Durant, were plenty strong, particularly Russell. You can equate it somewhat to a boxer's build, without being too weird, it's not a matter of bulk so much as strength and you can see it in their shoulders, back, and legs. Hayes, Murphy, Kira, and NAW are gifted players in their own right but if you watch games they all get easily knocked off their line on offense and pushed out of position on defense.

Guys like Murphy and NAW are finnese players. They tend to avoid contact rather than seek it. If you look at Herb, he's around the same size as Murphy but is much more physical because he has the mentality and playstyle. As for NAW, he's a big SG but he doesn't seek contact or likes physicality. That's just his game and mental makeup.

Kira is definitely both a size and strength issue. He's got a ways to go in that department.

Hayes problem is his lack of foundational skillset needed to be good at his position. You look at Evan Mobley who is rail thin and weighs about 215 pounds and he's doing just fine. Hayes needs to wake up and treat every minute of playing time like his last.

Style is a function of strength. Murphy and NAW would be vastly different players if they could finish through contact. Hayes and Kira would be vastly different if they could better control (another function of strength) their athleticism. Go to a game and size up our Pels to most of the opposing squad and the difference is plain. Again, some of this is youth, but save for Hart, Val, BI, and our Husky boy they all need to get serious about strength conditioning if they want to step up to being contenders.

kira is your best example. but there better be a well informed program.
food, nutrition and agreed goals and agreement on how to meet them.
meanwhile hes had a serious injury so he cant work on his game.
kira is a lot like cam payne. he got knocked around in nba and then injured.
two years in the minors before his successful rotation guy stint with suns. hes sturdier looking now. and improved range slightly.
kira can do add muscle without giving up much speed.
