Yea I’m not really worried about what cooks will make 2 seasons from now. He was cheap labor out playing his contract,

I agree, but now Ramczyk is cheap labor outperforming his contract.

Heck, you could say the same with Ginn. For a 3rd receiver those are solid numbers and a good contract.

well they aren't wrong when he's noting the point of not paying the big money to the guy and investing back into the draft.

Unless your own FA is legit top 5 at his position, don't pay him top 5 money. Seems simple but teams always overpay in FA.

I'd also only pay top 5 money to the top 4-5 positions, which in my opinion are:

1. QB
2. Pass rusher
3. CB
4. LT
5. Play making FS like Ed Reed,Sharper, Earl Thomas, etc.

It gets tricky if you have someone like a Julio Jones, Luke Kuechly, Alvin Kamara, etc. at a non premium position. There are always exceptions. But for the most part, it never pays to have the top paid RB in the league for example.

Ramczyk and Ginn Jr. both had better years this year than Cocks ever had for us.

You just cannot accept that Cooks is not elite bro. It's time. Not in the same league as cantguardmike

i dont think he's better than Thomas.

He's been top 10 in WR yards 2 years in a row tho. He's the best WR on the best team in football. Dont @ me.

Cooks may be the most overrated player in football. He’s 5’9 and ted fricking Ginn filled his pot pretty good. Even when he was with us, we still needed a number two receiver because. He wasn’t it

Some of yal are ridiculous, like how we need another receiver now?

Cooks and Thomas would be among elite 1-2 WRs in the league. It would easily rivaled D. Thomas and Eric Decker/Manny Sanders in Denver during Manning's time there.

Cheaper to find a good receiver than it is to find an offensive line anchor.

Brandin Cooks is a a dime a dozen receiver who has had the luxury of playing with Drew Brees and Tom Brady his whole career.

Who do the Patriots go to in crunch time when they need someone to make a play? Cooks? No, they go to Gronk. He’s the real big play man in their offense.

We absolutely won that trade.

Brady is more likely to go to hogan in crunch time than cooks.

Strief
Carl nicks
Bushrod
Armstead
Jahri Evans

All were mid - late round picks

Nicks fell due to off field issues.

Or how about:
Charles Brown
Andrew Tiller
Tavon Rooks

Ain't easy to just plug and play a lineman and expect them to be top 10 at their respective position in the first second.

You know, in retrospect, the real patriot move would have been to sign Ginn cheap like we did and watch him ball out. I am still surprised they gave up so much for cooks.
