Damn straight.
Funny thing is there is room for all past and present Saints except in some people who's brains are too narrow to hold more than one idea at a time.

That's bullshite. I'm not saying they don't do community work, but 99% do not love them.
I'm glad they do community work, but for the Mannings to act like nothing good can come from Louisiana football (both college and pro), they can move on out of here.

He was at Newman High School doing volunteer work this morning. The blackboards there are mounted on the ceiling to teach the little snots to keep their noses up. They need tall guys to help clean them.

So, if you were lucky enough to have a son get to the SB against the Saints, are you saing you'd root against your son, or you're saying you would no longer be a Saints fan???
I don't know why this is so hard to understand. Just read my posts.
I would do exactly what Archie did. He gave up his job with the Saints Radio Network in 1997 because Peyton was going pro and there would be a conflict of interest. The Saints were no longer Archie's #1 team. At that point, you can really stop blowing Archie. He distanced himself from this franchise pretty well. He is no longer the face of this franchise. Give it up. Furthermore, I think he has thought of this franchise as a job more than anything else. I think he resented playing QB for the Saints and all the shitty teams we fielded, which in my opinion is why he didn't let Eli go to the Chargers.
The man has always looked out for himself and his family over this franchise. I'm not saying he's wrong for that; as I said, he has done what I would have done. But please, stop trying to look through his bathroom window and masturbate.

It's kind of awkward when you think about it. The first ever appearance and Super Bowl victory of the franchise you're associated with is against your son who was raised a Saints fan. Your number was the first to be retired in the organization...one of the highest honors given to a player.
It's hard to say this but Archie does earn a place at the table to share in this moment of glory having been a major face of the franchise, albeit a negative one.
With that said, I would enjoy seeing some his comments on the game.

Isn't it kind of funny that Archie was born in DREW, Ms.?? You would think he couldn't get DREW Brees out of his head...

Archie called games for a homer network. He's expected to be on the air and supporting the Saints. Peyton has played against the Saints 5 times in his career, and Archie would have been unable to call those games as the Colts are his #1 team.
I don't know anything about Simms, but he can be assigned to a different game than the one his son is playing in since he works for CBS, who calls many games in one day.

Some of the dumbest, most small minded post I have ever seen. Some of you wonder why you struggle in life, it is because you are stupid. I doubt anyone on here bashing Archie will ever do as much for New Orleans or where ever they live than the Mannings have. And 99% of the people in New Orleans do love the Mannings. Maybe not the losers Lunchbx hangs with but the people involved in New Orleans communities have tremendous respect for him and the work his sons do. It amazes me have fricking stupid and small minded some people are. You dumb ignorant frick. Great thing about message boards is the idiots get the same voice as someone with some sense.

Hell no way Archie would let any of his sons play in this state except at HS level. Mr. and Mrs. Brees have replaced Archie and Olivia as the facebook family of the Saints. It is about Damn Time. Comical when a city idolizes a QB who played almost 40 yrs ago and had a winnig percentage of 27%.

Archie said all he needed to say pre-Superbowl.

This!! Archie is number 8, and number 8 hangs in the dome. To say he's not a Saint anymore is like saying Dimaggio isn't a Yankee, Ted Williams isnt a Red Sox, or Jim Brown isn't a Brown.
I think Archie personifies class and dignity, and I'm proud of him as a New Orlenian because he is classy and because I admire the fact that he appears to be a great father to his kids.
Repeating!! His number is in the FRIGGIN RAFTERS OF THE DOME ALONGSIDE PISTOL PETE!!!!! Not a Saint?

I have no issue with Archie rooting for his son -- I would do the same. I do have an issue with him not coming out after and congratulating the Saints, the fans, and the city. He is not as class of an act as you give him credit --- his sons went out of state to school, his NO promotion has been weak after Katrina, and his no statement makes me dislike him more than ever.

So what. You are absolute freak who needs to get a grip if it bothers you that much that his sons didn't play at LSU. Big fricking deal. If you feel that way you need to back away from the computer and realize you are way to extreme. You don't love LSU anymore than I do, so to get carried away like that is like the Al Queda of LSU fans. Weird cultish freaks who take it way too serious. Worse than the guys arguing on the recruiting board about some 16 yr olds 40 times.

i've never had a problem with Archie, until the SB pregame build up. Two quotes that were in numerous articles really, I thought, were poorly thought out at best by Archie:
1. "I'm pulling for the Colts, and it's NOT EVEN CLOSE." OK, I understand you want your son to win. But, was the "not even close" needed? With emphasis?
2. (paraphrased because I don't feel like finding the article) his quasi-prediction: "I feel sorry for the Saints and hope they make it back again some day."

How about Ed Reed, Reggie Wayne and scores of others. Yet, it is only Peyton or Eli that get the wrath. The only reason Peyton didn't go to Ole Miss was because the Manning's had inside scoop that the Rebels were going on probation. They checked schedules for the next four years and saw that Tennessee was the only top program in the SEC that was not scheduled to play Ole Miss during the regular season. Eli was always going to Ole Miss and Cutcliffe being hired made it that much easier.

You can keep throwing that number out all you want, it won't be any more true. And I still didn't say they didn't do stuff for the city.
Bottom line is Archie lost a lot of respect for sending his kids away for college ball and the way he handled Eli in the draft. It may not be right, but that's just how some people feel. And I guarantee you it is more than 1% of New Orleans. I grew up here, I promise you he is not as beloved as you think. Have you ever listened to any call in shows on 870?

Even if you take out Archie's son from the equation... I just can't picture Archie Manning as happy for the Saints as what like Bobby Hebert was/is. I don't know but I just don't think Archie has that same saint passion.

That's the same ilk as idiots that post here. Not representative of people who have a healthy prospective or whose opinions actually matter.
