We absolutely should be accumulating talent. But we shouldn’t accumulate talent that doesn’t fit our timeline. Not only is it a waste…it could be counterproductive.
For this move to make sense, you have to be of the opinion that this guy, if things go well, fits the timeline of what the plan is. If you can make that case, fair enough.

This ain't basketball. You're not getting 50 guys on the same timeline. I think a 4th was too much but they didn't give up compensation like he's a future franchise cornerstone so if they get 3-4 years out of him it's worthwhile.

Bro, you sound like a child with that. What i said isn't a lie. I just don't take names and kick butt. I read. I don't make it a habit to remember screen names on a message board.
At the end of the day, we all want to be contenders. Giving away draft picks for 28 year old players isn't a smart move for the future of our organization. That isn't difficult to understand.

In general you try to stay young. This is a guy with upside who isn’t young.
I agree it’s a 4th. Can’t frick up too much because if that. But it indicates that this move is to help with THIS team. I don’t support wasting even a 4th for that.

Your claim that many posters on here think we're in win now mode is just baseless dude. Do some people like to look at the bright side of things? Sure, of course. But no one thinks we're going to be competing for a super bowl right now. You can be happy with an acquisition, rightly or wrongly, and still think we're going to suck.
I also don't like giving up the picks in our situation, but it is what it is. We have a dumbass GM who will never be fired. There isn't much to be done about that by bitching on a message board.

my friend. My last comment on this, we all want to be contenders sooner than later, let's play with what we have currently, don't give up draft picks and build thru the draft. IMO, our future QB is in college somewhere and with a top 3 pick, he'll be ours.
