How many teams, much less Saints teams of the past, would be able, while missing 4 defensive starters and 3 opening-day starters, to go on the road and beat a team which had two weeks to prepare for us? Stop complaining, you idiots!

Missing 4 staters and also, concerning the run D which has been discussed in this thread, we just played:

Brown/williams
michael turner
deangelo williams
stephen jackson

Just as long as we are back healthy for the playoffs, no worries......

Sean Payton's lack of emotion is starting to drag the team down--too much like Les Miles.

The Saints need someone more like Nick Saban who will chew out a player when they make a mistake.

Yes we obviously have lost a couple of steps as a team. The question is--when will we regain it?

But 9-0 is 9-0!!

Most fans are being way to critical.
Look at the other games on Sunday. Terry Bradshaw said before the Bengals/Steelers game that one of the certainties of life was that the Bengals could not beat the Steelers in Pittsburgh. Well they did, he had to eat crow. Jimmy Johnson before the game said that the Cowboys would be the NFC rep in the Super bowl. They almost got shut out by the Packers who it was reported last week on the sports news were about to implode. Any team can beat any team on a given day. The Saints were short:
Jamal Brown
Heath Evans
Lance Moore
Jonathan Goodwin (did he play, if so probably not 100%)
Darren Sharper
Jabari Greer
Sedrick Ellis
Tracy Porter
Fujita not 100%

I think that's everybody.
The subs stepped up.
I don't care what any one says, it's hard to get up to play a team you think you are better than.
The Rams were coming off a win, a week off, two weeks to prepare for the Saints, and have a stud running back who they knew from watching the Falcons and Panthers film we would have trouble stopping.
We adjusted, we stopped him in the second half, and we found a way to win.
The colts sucked hind tit for the first half of the game sunday night. They held on, they adjusted, they didn't quit, and the other team petered out and made some stupid decisions. The Colts won. That's all that matters.
We do need to quit turning the ball over, but otherwise, as it keeps being said, we are gonna get everybody's A game.
Most of our injured guys will be back. We just have to find a way to win.
I'm happy with a W.

His average was inflated by carries of 13, 14, and 30 yards, so for each of those, he had a carry of no gain or a loss of yardage.

Dude...98 yards on 17 carries is sucking against the run no matter how you want to dress it up

A win is a win but let's not pretend that there isn't room for improvement just because we're undefeated.

It's actually very simple. We are a little dinged up, and while Brees is Brees, he has a couple of bad games every year. Look at the past couple of seasons and you will clearly see a common trend in that aspect. There is one major difference though. This is a complete team that will lift each other to victory when it is necessary to carry a little extra weight. This is the true mark of a great team IMO. Our run defense will improve when big Sed comes back and him and Fujita are back to early season form and Brees will bounce back from sub-par, in his standards alone, performances. In previous seasons, we would have either lost close games, or gotten blown out completely if Brees played less than desirable. This year, we are still putting games away in spite of this. This is by far the best team in Saints history and the best TEAM in the NFL IMHO. Let's enjoy it because as Saints fans, we know how tough it is to have our team playing at such a great level.
