anybody posting on this topic that says mccray sucks obviously didnt follow the saints last year. There were many times when mccray was in the game that it seemed he was our best defensive lineman on the field. He is about 1000 times better than retard grant was last year.

12 tackles in 16 games with a whopping 1.5 sacks for a pass rushing specialist. I think it's obvious you didn't watch the Saints much last year.
CG had 44 tackles with 5.5 sacks and started every game. I'm not saying Grant wasn't pathetic, but he was a whole lot better than Grant. And I don't believe for a second Gregg Williams would have kept McCray on the bench for any reason other than performance.
McCray got some attention for a couple of big hits in the playoffs. He helped us with the SuperBowl and I love him for it. I'm expecting better performance this year if his back is healed.

McCray is a serviceable component to GW's defense, if only for "Remember Me Shots". It's good to have him back. Bobby knows the system, and should stay healthier with less snaps. GW said recently he wanted Bobby back.
McCray didn't have any significant stats for the price he was paid, thus the reason he was let go. The re-signing makes me feel better about our depth, for that just-in-case there is a god-forbid-injury to Alex Brown. We, at least, know what he can do.
I think this may mean more to the Junior Galette types in camp competing to make the active roster over an experienced vet backup.

because he blindsided a few QBs he's totally awesome now. nevermind that he rushes up the field every play like a high school player.

You're right - I typed Grant when I should have typed McCray. I was trying (and failed) to make the point that as unimpressive as Grant was, he was a whole better than McCray.
