Hopefully he finds the field soon and proves you right.

THats aa big statement, but another example by how bad our personnel department is. Look at Tampa bays drafts picking back in the draft for the last few drafts

I likely would have, but I’m still not sure I agree with the overall post. Penning was so just so bad initially, and Bresee has had some success rushing the passer and at least occasionally flashes. How depressing but I have hope that Penning at G will end up as a “non bust”

different paths for sure in the career. But Penning is trending in the right direction for his next 10 years of career. Bresee is strictly a 3rd down IDL in a 4-3 imo.

The guy causes absolute chaos in the passing game. I see him constantly getting in the backfield. He must be all time horrible against the run to get such poor grades

Not really. He is regularly in the backfield to my eyes

But he rates very low in the metrics, so he must be extremely bad on plays where he's not getting penetration

sorry goat. bresee is awful. his data is awful. he's slightly propped up with a few sack stats but everything else is terrible. you can't be THE WORST RUN DEFENDER in the league and be playing nearly the most snaps of all your D lineman. He was a 1st round pick and is not living up to proper expectations.

Its bad when i'm sitting here hoping a jonah williams or a john ridgeway takes snaps away from our first round pick.

36 games in my eyes say he is good at pressuring the qb and terrible vs the run. Up to this year he was rotated in but not getting a lot of reps vs the run. There could not have been a better year than this one to let him get the reps he so badly needs vs the run. My main disagreement is comparing him to Penning. I would grade Penning a F so far this year and Bresee a C.

Perhaps I remember incorrectly his first games. I don't recall him staying in as much in running plays vs passing downs.

I definitely wouldn’t call him great but he’s been good and getting better. He was worth his draft position.

So you pump every below average player on our team but Bresee’s mediocrity is where you draw the line?

Not sure which below average player I pump but bresee is a first round pick well on his way to being the defensive stepchild of Cesar Ruiz
