Or the only team Butler showed interest in was the New Orleans Saints.

Or the rumors were likely true we wanted to flip Cooks for Butler but Butler was still upset about the whole Gilmore thing at the time.

32 as a placeholder/just in case plus a round up swap for us holding the bag still seems like what went down.

My point is that this division is full of large, physical receivers and shelling out CB1 money (shut-down corner money) for Butler may be unwise since his physical build is a natural disadvantage in this division.

This ain't madden bro.. everything isn't about the tangible measurements so stop with that nonsense

While at LSU (don't start with the LSU bullshite) rashard robinson shut down mike evans for two years and he is an inch smaller than butler.. was that luck? A fluke? Was Evans sick for those two games?

Hey size matters, but so does technique. If you are a few inches shorter than she would like you cam make up for it with great technique and stamina.

With what you're saying no one should ever get a CB ever.

You're reaching a little bit

He's saying the saints should only get corners who are at least 6'2, can run a sub 4.4, have a wonderlic score higher than 2x's their jersey number, be under 25 years of age, and also they have to have a second toe that is no more than 2mm and no less than 4mm longer than their big toe (on both feet, having met this criteria on only one foot will result in being DQ'd from employment)

Oh I agree, it does help.. but let's not act like there are corners who are under 6 foot tall that can't ball (in the fall?)

I have to agree they aren't bad IF everyone come back healthy from injury, but it's most definitely a position that can and should be improved.

We have like 4 #2 corners (one that was showing #1 potential before two injuries). A true blue #1 guy is needed.

I wouldn't be upset with it but only if we don't draft a corner at #11. What happens if we trade for Butler and all the good DEs are gone at 11 but Lattimore is sitting there at 11. You can't pass him up. And now you can't draft a 2nd tier DE until 42.

DE is more of a need than CB IMO and I'd be afraid we might screw ourselves.

The group of tier 2 de seem to be very heavy. Lots of these late 1st-early 2nd guys

There are reasons why there are only 4-5 corners in the 6'3" range in the L. These guys can't turn and run

Arm length is more important than height. Must be 32" or longer. Makes marlon Humphrey intriguing late 1st & Gareon in play at 11 (33" arms)

Darrel Green 5' 9"
Darelle Revis 5' 11"
Ronde Barber 5' 10"

all the best corner in the league at one point in their career.

A lot more than that too. Hell Brent Grimes is SUPER underrated because of his size. I was upset when we didn't try to go for him a few years back because Payton got obsessed with the Sea big corner shtick.

I'd rather have top choice of the tier 2 guys than bottom choice. And I want to double up on pass rushers. A combo of Barnett and Watt or Reddick and Willis

I say bad. Draft is loaded with CBs that will be good to great, some of which should be around pick 32.

Butler- I don't see him as a superstar whose worth is that much higher, if at all, as to what you could probably get #32 this year.

Plus he's 28.

You can get CB of equal value or close to it in the draft and the draftee is only 21-23 yrs of age on the cheap compared to what Bulter thinks he should be commanding salary wise.

Put me in the No category.

so your whole premis for saying this is, to falsely assume that any CB you draft will be at least as talented as butler and can start immediately this year and make our defense vastly improved just by being there, so therefore drafting a CB is better because he is younger and cheaper.

if, and that is one hell of a mount rushmore size big "if" the pick we make, hits lottery gold and is "as you say", as talented as butler is, then and only then, you would be right.

odds are slim to none that you are right, but ya never know, we could get lucky I suppose

Moore, Breaux, Williams, and I think I'm forgetting someone (not Swann).

Maybe it's only 3?
