All LSU homerism aside I’d love Mansoor at 8. Immediate need day 1 starter imo. I could see him being VERY helpful to the defense. I think he’s an all pro talent and makes whoever drafts him extremely happy.

Love would more or less be a boom or bust prospect given the relative value/importance of the RB position. If you are going to take a RB that high, he can't be just "solid" or even good. He has to be great and offense changing, over the course of multiple years, without facilitating a drop-off at other positions that could have been drafted that high.

No one doubts the ability. The question is does he elevate the team as a whole, who has multiple spots that could be better.

Here's another NFL.com mock draft that has the Saints picking Jeremiyah Love at 8. In this case Tate, Lemon, and Bailey were all picked already. I'd have taken Love here too, though could be talked in to Mansoor Delane (who lasted until 13 in this mock) if he tests reasonably well at the combine.

Bucky Brooks has us taking David Bailey over Love, Downs, or Lemon.

Cameron Jordan? is 36 and currently without a contract for 2026. Whether he returns to the team or not, the Saints must find an eventual replacement on the edges. Bailey is not a finished product, but his speed, explosiveness and burst give blockers problems in pass protection

I'm Ok with this. Would've been OK with Lemon or Love in this scenario as well.

With Demario seemingly on the way out, not sure if Stutsman fills that void properly or if Stutsman more of a Werner replacement.

With that said, Sonny Styles seems to fit the mold of Demario very well IMO. Could be about as safe of a pick as many options there.

The Saints would not have won the Super Bowl without Reggie Bush's contribution in the playoffs.

I love Styles, he jumped out in those Ohio State playoff games. But LB is probably the only position less likely to go top 10 than RB or maybe OG. Think Roquan Smith was drafted at 8.
