General questions about salaries.

Does every team have the same amount of money to spend on players?
If you don’t reach the salary cap, does the team get to keep the money they “ saved”?
If the Saints are spending the same amount of money as all the other teams, why do a lot of those teams have way more talent than we do?

Draft better talent, don't give away 1st round picks for defensive ends nobody every heard of. Don't keep relics around and continue to overpay them...oh and draft better talent. But don't worry the NFL is fake it's just for entertainment so enjoy.

Yes and no. Every team has the same salary cap, yes. But there are ways to manipulate the way players are paid to front more cash to them up front (and often overall due to the length of these contracts) by converting their salaries into Signing bonuses. We are a heavy utilizer of this technique and arguably pioneered it in the NFL. The Eagles also use it heavily (more than us or anyone else now). It is typically only something that can be used by owners who are OK paying a lot of cash at once.

Unused salary cap space does roll into the next season, yes. But there is a requirement over a 4 year rolling period for how much teams must use, so you can't game it by underspending and piling up a huge amount for a mega year or something.

Teambuilding in the NFL comes down to drafting well - draft picks/rookie contracts are much cheaper than veteran contracts - and having an always-churning group of young, good players who are on cheap contracts. You retain some, and you let some walk. The best teams (teams like the Ravens) often lose so many players to FA that they get back a ton of comp picks that they can just keep the process going with.
Essentially, we have just sucked at drafting since 2018 and the team lacks good young talent. Most teams are spending up close to the cap on veterans, the difference in how good teams are comes down to what % of their "good" players are on cheaper rookie deals

No the NY Titans and LA Millionaires have unlimited cap space. Look it up.
The St Louis Charlatans are the most cap restricted of all 46 NFFL teams.

The Saints ownership has been generous in spending money…. that’s not the issue.
The issue is Loomis (GM) keeps spending the money in idiotic ways …. that ultimately handcuffs the Saints as an organization.
1). Wastes money on poor high draft picks.
2). Signs players to extensions he should try to trade or just cut.
3) Keeps kicking salary cap can down the road.
4). All the money is wasted on bad contracts… then they can’t afford Free Agents due to Poor Money- Cap Management.
