I may have a little pep to my defense of him but its fair. To form such opinions after seeing the general consensus for Vele vs his actual impact seems ridiculous. He is considered more talented by a wide margin so it's weird for expectations and opinions to be this low. Recent history would tell us to hold off on any opinion until he's on the field. Setting his ceiling around WR5 without a snap played is the furthest thing from that. Everyone said the exact same thing about Vele in regards to being out of the WR rotation and he wasn't anything close to as talented from NFL scouts perspective.
Even if he ends up being the overrated 2nd rd pick that can't put it together he could STILL end up being our #3-4 currently. You could be pessimistic and still view him as a #3-#4 so yes capping him at #5 right now is excessive, that still stands.
Thinking that we will have 4 WR's better than Polk to start the year is insanely optimistic compared to simply thinking Polk has the potential to be a #3-#4.
