In one year the Saints went from worst QB/coach combo to best in the division.

Last year the Saints had the worst qb/coach combo in the division.
QB rankings imo
1 - Mayfield
2 - Cousins
3 - Carr
4 - Young
Coach rankings imo
1 - Canales
2 - Bowles
3 - Morris
4 - Allen (very distant 4th)
This year Shough is the best qb in the division and Moore is as good as Canales. Those two things are how you win the division. We will see who the Falcons hire at coach they have a lot of weapons but Penix or Cousins are at best 3rd in the division.
On the flip side, the Saints probably have the worst offensive skill players in the division. Atlanta has the best, then a toss up with Tampa or Carolina and then the Saints. Outside of Olave, Johnson, and an aging Kamara the Saints offensive weapons are pretty lackluster. This needs to be a focus in both free agency and the draft. They need to find two weapons.

They had the chance to get a number one in Pickens but chose Vele instead.
I know the money situation is completely different but so is the caliber of player.
Difference from 73 to 108 in the draft.

Considering he’s a certifiable head case (though very talented), I’d be real skeptical viewing him as a Number One. And there wasn’t one person who could guarantee we had our QB of the future on the roster last off season. So to be critical of not signing a head case when we didn’t know if we had our QB yet is silly. And that’s before Vele looked REALLY good once he saw significant PT and targets.

I love Kellen Moore as our coach so far. I’m not sure I would’ve wanted a 36 year old rookie HC who was finding his way to have to deal Pickens right out on the gate.
I think this season worked out perfectly for everyone to actually find their footing in the roles we hope they’re in for a decade plus.

Muh Pickens. You’re a broken record, guy.

Our division is pure garbage. We just stink a little less.

Mickey still needs to get.
Make no mistake.

Yep, Allen and Carr will do that for you.

One year? More like a half season.

Dude was the number three overall receiver this year and also on the all pro team. And you had the chance to get him for pennies on the dollar. We have Vele and I’m still seeing people wanting to draft a receiver in the first with an all pro receiver already on the roster.
