I'm not referring to the criticism of the Defense as a whole, ie that the defense "sucked" because of the first game in a season.
A larger sample size is needed to make any generalizations about any team.

Shanle and Harper suck. I saw Shanle give one of those shitty shoulder bumps in attempting to tackle Graham yesterday. He shrugged it off and gained five more yards. LBs that are worth a shite wrap up when they tackle.

Harper and Jenkins are 2 of the surest tacklers on our defense right now. They both whiffed some tackles, but I assure you neither one is afraid to make a tackle.

Normally Harper would have at least made contact with the runner. I mean he straight up whiffed.

Nowhere in that post does it say anything about people criticizing the defense as a whole. You just pigeonholed anyone who criticized the tackling in one game as fans who think the defense will suck all year. That's a huge leap to make.

no we point out the obvious and dont sugar coat and find excuses...and i dont think were just talking about the Tampa game...Im talking about all the games so far this year.. Our tackling and pass rush suck. We've got to get better if we want another title... better LBs big time, Vilma needs help... I think if we get better at DE and LB actually Harper and Jenkins wouldnt be mentioned so much..thats obvious

I agree with this! I also agree with everyone else that Harper is garbage. I have been saying that he needed to go since before the Seattle game. He can't cover at all! If he was only used "in the box" and to blitz then it wouldn't be a problem but with GW's complicated scheme he is forced to cover all too often. This leaves the rest of the defense exposed. Also it's not all the defense, the offense has plenty of problems.
1) Robert Meachem sucks balls, he has not lived up to his draft status at all.
2) Running backs are coughing it up.
3) The O-line is not getting a push, especially in the run game.
4) I love Drew as much as everyone else, but he throws too many picks! I understand that with our defense he has too put alot of pressure on himself, but he gets very careless with the football.
With that said I think many of these problems will get corrected (with the exception of Harper), and we continue to have a great season.

bullshite FunBunch!! If you watched the Saints v. Texans in preseason, they weren't tackling well then either. Its the whole launch-body-like- missle at opposing player tactic. Its shite. Our Dline seems to get it. Our LBs dont.
