His salary is manageable now, especially for his production.

If it's greater than 0, it's too much for our cap efforts. He's a negative asset for us moving forward at any salary.
Having a RB on a reasonable salary only matters if we are supposed to be good.

I’m just shocked that he wanted to stay here

DJ has hated Kamara for years, ignore him

It's understanding just how bad our salary cap situation is
You are ignoring how fricked we are and how limited we will be in fixing things for years

I’ve looked at the cap hard this season. It can be cleaned up a lot by 2026 and fully by 27. Triplett had a good article on it.

I don’t hate Kamara. I just speak the truth about him.

You’re not getting any meaningful compensation back by trading him.
Outright cutting him would have been better than extending him. Any compensation would have been a bonus.

I've been saying that for a couple of years.

If I was the 49ers, I’d have went after him. Him and Mccaffery together would kill it in that offense.
No team would ever tie up that much money in 2 rbs.

No you don’t. You’ve shite on him for years.

Yes I have, because he was absolutely terrible for a few years. Played with 0 effort, didn’t fight for yards, ran out of bounds as much as he could.
He looked much better last year and looks good this year.
He has great vision, balance, and a great jump cut. He lacks top end speed and speed kills. To be paid with the elites you need to be a game breaker along wtih other things. Dump offs to a slow running back isn’t winning football. We don’t have much else right now so we don’t really have a choice but to feed him but this offense needs to add speed and players that are more dynamic with the ball in their hands. It’s insane we don’t have a single player we can give a short dump off to and have him take it 60 yards for a touchdown.

When your Super Bowl window is open and you paying your qb a 7th round salary it’s totally possible.
The Kamara extension isn’t a big number. 12 a year, we paying Williams like 5 to get 3 carries a game….

bullshite. He was misused and had his hall of fame chances nuked by Pete Carmichael. This year 100% proves it.

He has the same speed he’s always had.

Crazy that he has the most all purpose yards in the NFL since 2017 despite not having the most touches.

He was used as a rb which is the position he played. But hey, yall continue to make excuses.

You have a 40 time to verify that? Most players don’t have the same speed after 7/8 years in the league.

What does that have to do with 2024? We might as well bring Michael Thomas back if 2017 stats matter. May want to check on Antonio Brown and Leveon Bell and see what they are doing also.

The 49ers have like $54M in cap I think so they theoretically could have afforded him. His contract was up after this year, too (or they could have cut him with $0 in dead cap), so it would have been no actual cost to them.
