i mean random examples but steve young was a much different style than joe montana but still successfully ran a similar offense

No. It doesn't.

Coach Sean Payton was asked about Jackson last month and noted that he was impressed with Jackson's presence.
“I like him. I like him. He’s athletic. He’s got a magic smile to him. He’s a leader,” Payton said. “With Lamar, you feel it in the room, and you can tell he can lead. ... He’s a special guy. You just have to be around him, interview him, and you can see why he was successful.”
Yet the SainTARD nation would jump off the CCC if we drafted him. Go turn on some tape. His issues are completely fixable, if Payton deems him as the type of guy who’s willing to work for it and he would have two years to get ready.
Payton has already come out and said he’s not looking for a Brees clone (hint: there ain’t ONE) and he’d tailor the offense to the strengths of the next guy. Lamar has a great arm and is one of the most electric players in the game with the ball in is hands, I’m more than sure Payton can handle it.
FACT IS, we had the equivalent of 4 1st round picks last year. If there is ever a time to pull the trigger on the FUTURE, it’s NOW
DRIVEMAN OUT

He should just say we need to replace Brees with another HoF'er

I cringe at the thought of drafting him ,and I hope we don't use our first round draft pick on him.
Our twitter beat writers are all pushing for the Saints to draft him to expose the racist members of the fan base and make them angry.
Says something when your fake beat writers would rather upset the fans than improve the team.

He has some good content but he throws that white guilt on you. It is annoying af. Like this dude went on about Mahomes not being coveted because of his skin tone. Bro, he went 10th. Wtf are you talking about! Cam Newton went 1st overall, he’s black.
Main thing he does that is annoying and he should be called out for:
Putting “this is the most important thing I’ve ever written” as a caption for every twitter post. Straight up a Shea Serrano shtick, who is one of the best nba writers. Serrano has been using that line for years. Be more original.
I dunno, I lean neither way as far as politics go and find the guy unbearable 50% of the time. Just an irrational person at times. I’m sure he will see this. Do better. Not everyone is a racist because they don’t think a guy who isn’t white is that good.

I think he'll be a "WOW this guy is tearing it up" early type of player.
And then when teams realize he can't throw worth a shite he will get exposed and his career will nosedive.
Cam can't throw either but he is a huge, physical specimen that can take the pounding. Lamar doesn't have that physicality.
He just wasn't accurate enough in college for that to translate to the NFL.

I concur with all of the above.

This. If he slides into the 3rd round, I say take him.

quote:While I can see his comment, if we were to draft a young QB to sit behind Drew, he would have to be able to run the same or similar offense. How else would he develop? There are very few snaps for the backup QB and Payton is not going to develop a completely different offense for those few plays. Can you honestly see Jackson running this offense?
So you missed where Payton said the next QB doesn't have to be a Drew clone and he'd tailor the offense around whoever that was?
Posted on 4/11/18 at 10:23 am to PenguinPubes
Hell no---Jackson is a far better athlete/runner with the ball than RG3

I'm not saying that Jackson is the guy, but the next QB isn't necessarily going to be a Brees clone.
A 6' QB with an average arm who can do what Brees can is such a rare thing. Be prepared for change.

Not looking forward to having another Aaron Brooks.

I'm referring to every other chicken little in this thread who think that we need another brees.
I'd take one, but he isn't out there.

I really could give two shits about the twitter beat writers and being perceived as a racist. The facts are he is small, runs too much, he has only 57 percent accuracy average, and his decision to let his mom be his agent shows he is not a great decision maker. Throw in a 13 on the wonderlic he has bust written all over him. I mean he is just maybe a bit better than Taysom Hill which it doesn't take a genius to see is not a starting QB in the NFL.
