Yes... not a bad pick, and Chucky said it well when talking about the pick. Think how far this secondary has come, it use to be horrid, and now we have no holes in the secondary. We just need an OLB, and another DL and the defense is set. I have faith this draft will get us there.

I will have to wait out the WHOLE draft before I start getting upset.

Saints could feel good about an LB at the end of the 2nd with good value.

2 years ago we had Fred Thomas and Jason David. Never thought we'd have too many CBs possibly.

Like the pick. There is plenty of value left on the board and we will get a solid player in the 2nd. This pick allows us to move MJ to safety (if they desire) and provides much needed depth. Our CB situation turned into an absolute nightmare last season and we just lucked out that everyone got healthy for the playoffs.

I already said I feel confident they believe they can upgrade DT and OLB somehow. There was entirely too much smoke on the Jammal Brown trade end to not happen. Hopefully the Vikings draft Price at DT leaving the Saints as the only active option for Albert's services.

Maybe we can pick up a experienced LB sitting at home to play a couple of games for us. It worked last year.

I guess Peter King knew what he was talking about after all. I don't get the pick but you have to defer to Payton, Williams and Loomis. Kindle must have some character issues and/or they didn't think he was a good fit.

I don't think w would have taken Hughes he's Alex Brown lite.I think they know we need another cover guy to allow Jenkins to bulk up and move to safety.Like someone said tonite the two defenses people tried to copy during the season us and the Jets both took corners.Thats what blitzing coaches need the most of........................

I think that they had Robinson rated higher than Washington on the board ad took the best def player available at FS/CB/DT/LB

If it was Kyle Wilson, I wouldn't be so upset, but Robinson was not worth a 1st round pick. Very erratic production from him. Obviously Loomis and Payton valued a CB higher than anything because of having to move Jenkins to FS.

If they can pick up an extra 2nd rounder tomorrow and grab Toby Gerhart at 64, then I'll accept the Robinson pick more.

Well, I'm done venting. See y'all in the 2nd.

I dunno - I would've gone for Washington at 32... Maybe traded up for Ghee from Wake Forest in the top half of the 2nd...

At very best, we see only a small part of the action that has already gone on in the front office. These guys know what they're doing. I think the major reason people were initially upset is because most didn't know much about Robinson. If Payton and Williams agree that it's the right move, it is. They also have it figured out how they're gonna try to meet the other needs. When you the SBC, you got swagga, even it the draft selections.

I don't see Redskins wanting to trade for Brown after drafting OT Trent Williams at #4. I'd still like to see Haynsworth and McIntosh in Black and Gold, but I'm not sure we have the bait to make the deal.

Sounds like Kindle and Hughes are more fitted at DE. I guess they weren't the kind of LB we were looking for at that pick.

Well, the Saints biggest need areas were/are DE, DT and OLB. We picked up 2 DE's before the draft. Picking Robinson allows Jenkins to play FS, and gives us an excellent rotation at CB.

I'm hoping the Saints can get the DT from Louisiana Tech, and maybe we get Haynesworth in a trade. Do we also get McIntosh to fill the OLB need?

Williams and Payton both said a couple of months ago that they had young OLB's already on the team who can play. Maybe that's why the FO didn't feel the need to pull the trigger on Kindle?

Sure would've loved Hughes, though. Would love to know if fhe team would've picked him if Indy hadn't.y
