But Davenport essentially averaged a sack every 100 snaps. He only played 40% of possible snaps.
4.5 sacks
hit the QB another 12 times
it's coming!

i really hope it's over (along with corresponding levels of hurries/pressures. not just an outlier level of sacks alone)

The kid showed flashes last year ,and I think he will be over 10 sacks this year and have a great year.

The first 4 games will make or break us. We go 3-1... we in good shape.

I posted this in that dopey "saints missed out" thread but I really should have posted it here in the first place. These stats are kind of amazing.
---------------------------------------------
I dunno how much this matters (different positions, different eras etc etc) but I checked out the rookie season stats for the top four Saints all time sack leaders... Rickey Jackson, Wayne Martin, Pat Swilling, and Will Smith
Jackson played 16 games and had 0 sacks (4.5 in season 2)
Martin played 16 games and had 2 sacks
Swilling had 4 sacks in 16 games
Only Will Smith had a bigger sack number (7.5) and he also played all 16 games
Another way of looking at this is Davenport only played 2/3 of a season and had twice as many sacks as two of the all time great Saints sack leaders COMBINED
