I like what the F.O. did with PT. He has shown he was good in limited action, now he can perform this year with more carries and still get a nice payout for a long term deal after. He has to show that he can perform as a go to running back with the stats and durability to get a lucritave contract, IMO, and that is the way it should be. Don't pay for potential, pay for results.

A majority of players and ownership will prolly get some reality pulled into the whacked out rookie pay system cuz of this.
Besides results too ya gotta know the man and his character. Fatass Grant produced but a soon as he got the big check (more than he should have) the injuries became endless and the numbers only went downhill.

Sean Payton loves his screens, and PT is the greatest screen runner the Saints have ever had.

Use him in 2010 and if he can't stay healthy (he's been hurt every year), let him walk. He's a great back and gives it his all, but we've obviously proved that we can win without him. If the price is right for the organization, then sign him. But I wouldn't break the bank to sign him to a long term deal.

I think you got handed your bag of fail. Frankly, I have no problem in the team wanting to coin a phrase to help describe their take as repeat champions. I could care less if they don't use "who dat" to your liking.
And as far as PT, I think the FO has handled this about as well as you could for the time being. I just hope we keep him here for the next 2 years at least.
