quote: Not sure what Harper did to deserve this thread. Must have been the whole "helping us win super bowl thing" Yeah frick that guy right.

Harper makes one play, Saints host the nfccg and probably win the Superbowl. And if the Saints win, there is no way Bountygate happens. I don't care how much Goodell hates Sean Payton, there is no way the do that to the defending Superbowl champs.

One play.

So we can forget every other play in that game and blame it on one play? Forget that MJ was on VD the entire game and had just given up a HUGE play to him. Or the way the offense struggled to begin the game. The fact that Alex Smith had a 20+ TD run???

"Bountygate" was happening regardless of what you think. Even if your logic is correct that it wouldn't happen the year right after, then it would have just happened this year. Either way, they had some ammo against GW (regardless of how weak) and needed to make it look like they cared about player safety; it was going to happen.

I noticed a bunch of current Saints players and coaches "standing in line" to great him after the Carolina game was over. Despite what the Saints fans perceive, Roman was well liked and respected by the entire Saints organization.

Good Luck to him, always.

Wow, glad you can tell the fricking future (or alternate reality). And why focus on that play only? I'm sure there are others where people scored or got scored on......

People like you are ridiculous.

Harper was a good leader and had strengths along with some weaknesses. Why you have to rip a guy that was a complete professional for our franchise? I just don't understand how this makes you feel better? We obviously moved on from Roman but his teammates really respected hin.

Amen. Bunch of moron fricking Saints fans ripping former players who gave their all. Coaches obviously thought he had something to add for many years.

An Army guy discounting leadership! That might explain why our other branches typically outshine the Army. Lack of leadership.

It also might explain the drop=off in play of the Saints Defense since last year, lack of leadership.

Let me guess, you are in the motorpool?
