2nd: This draft sucks, next years is better. We can't know that until the picks are made. If they draft two pro-bowl players at 16 and 19, the who gives a shite what next year's players are.
This just assumes we wouldn't have the opportunity for better picks in 2023 b/c we got lucky in 2022. That's not logic.

Thank you, this was pretty obvious

Someone explain this trade to me like I'm 5. I don't get it.
because its a stupid trade, we moved up 2 spots to get the same exact player we could get at 18 so we can get them at 16 and we gave up our 1st and 2nd rounders and got an extra useless 1st rnd pick for guys who are left that are only worth using 2nd rnd picks for
they should have done this trade in reverse, that way next year we are in position to draft a QB who is worthy of drafting.
the eagles took advantage of a stupid coaching staff that doesnt know what they are doing.
apparently they are going after players they like, hopefully WRs, but we will not have a QB to get them the ball and gave away our future opportunities to get a QB
AND eagles, who have very similar needs as ours, still pick ahead of us in both of those 1st rnd spots
if winston doesnt instantly turn into tom brady overnight, which he wont, we are seriously fricked for a long time now

This move reeks of a move that was made by someone that was desperate to get the sticks and make ‘something’ happen now that they finally have the chance
Maybe it’ll make more sense after the draft but as of right now, it’s hard to say

Effectively the philosophy on picks and the cap, which isn't terrible AS LONG as we're not left holding the bag of donating a top-5 pick.
When the music stops, it's going to really suck that next year so we're almost guaranteed a top-3 pick and will need it for rebuilding.
I can only imagine how much dead space we'll have when the music stops. Something crazy like 50% of hte cap or something

So the Saints get a 6th round pick and the Eagles get 2nd, 3rd, and 7th round picks. Philly wins the trade in a landslide even if Saints win Super Bowl.
Both teams basically swapped first round picks.

It`s amusing reading all these posts. The way people
put the trade down without knowing what Mickey and DA`s
thought process is hilarious. Nobody knows the end game
except them. Louisiana football fans are notoriously
negative nellies who overreact to everything.
I dont know if this is good or not but wont get to stressed
until it all plays out and we have a real educated opinion.

Guessing they will try to use the two #1s to move up.

I'm not mad I'd rather be 1-16 than 4-13, as long as we get that #1 pick

It's irrelevant for the most part.
This is a weird move that also includes a lot of risk to gain another 1st in a very weak class.

Uh...we now have 2 1st rounders.
Posted on 4/4/22 at 5:34 pm to SlowFlowPro
Since we have two firsts, our firsts traded are a wash. So if you think about it, we traded a second to move up in the first and a third to do the same thing

Is this where we pretend a 1st next year is "a 2nd"?

We’ll start seeing protections like the nba draft

1st in a very weak class
The draft is weak at QB RB TE but strong in the positions we are lacking in. This is a tired narrative. We have three top 50 picks including two in the top 20. Let’s not overreact

A lot of it. Win now trade when we definitely aren't contendors.
Pretty much this. Not a move I’d make when you’re hoping everything will be great with Jameis knee and Thomas leg. Just kinda dumb.

The NFC is wide open. No reason for any competent roster to not make a run.
