He’ll have one year to learn everything from Brees and take over next year after Brees retires when we win the Super Bowl this year. And we’ll be able to extend him for relatively cheap compared to most starting qbs in this league and have all that extra money to pay our young guys when the time comes and add even more weapons. Love this

This is really going all in for this year.
This seems like the opposite of going all in.
This sounds like securing our future.

Damn, they put Teddy on the Lane Kiffin Express!

Taysom and Teddy are going to have a tiny hand competition.

I'm thinking 2 years and then take over. Bree's will play for another season at least, but Teddy will still be young at 27 tears of age and fully healthy, the main thing.

I bet he didn't care where he found out...I would have to imagine he is thrilled by this.

I don't know what we gave up but I love this move. I was all for going after Bridgewater or Foles and getting ahead of the post-Brees suckage.

if you gave up a 2nd-3rd rounder without any agreed upon extension I'd find that to be beyond odd

still locks down your back up role and at bare minimum keeps a young team afloat post brees

Tyrod Taylor was traded for the 65th overall pick. Bridgewater is younger and more potential.
