I emailed the guy that took the picture and he said it was his. Told me, "I heard it's over at tigerdroppings"

Well, for those of you saying fries are a horrible thing to eat before the game - do understand that potatoes are a nice source of complex carbohydrates and so he was "carb loading" before the game for energy - this is not entirely unheard of....

It was gameday. The original Deadspin post pretty much confirmed it. Also I think the weather that weekend was only this pretty on Sunday (gameday).

And Shank is right - Fries are not horrible to eat before a game especially when you're like 23 and in top physical condition.

preeeeety much, I was trying to see if I could find some crap about this on Vikings message boards but I cant seem to find anything

you would think something like this could lead to a meltdown the week following the game

No way. I'd bet it was game weekend but I can't imagine how irresponsible he'd have to be to be out on gameday eating fries.

Have you ever been on a football team much worse is eaten than fries. I've seen a guy eat atleast 2 1/2 lbs of lasagna 3 1/2 hrs before kick off. I've seen a guy eat a dozen krispy kream doughnuts and a 1/2 gallon chocolate milk in film 2hrs before the game. I don't think a few fries are going to hurt. AD dude is a freak although it may explain why he kept fumbling the handoffs

And I think it's against the rules to EVER wash your hands before a game. So no doubt he would get the ball pretty greasy. Amazing that they didn't fumble on every play.

yeah, ive never said anything about the fumbling. i dont think thats even remotely related, just furl for fodder. I just want to know if he was actually just roaming the streets of NOLA that close to kickoff, seems just crazy to me

I think the implication from the original thread, IIRC, was he's eating greasy food shortly before the game, and then he fumbled in the game. Greasy fingers.

where was he eating, because if that is Canal or something, the sun is setting in that picture, so I couldn't believe it would be gameday

Just a guess though

FWIW it looks kind of cloudy in that pic which it was earlier that day. They are also drinking water, It also looks like he ate some kind of sandwich.

Yea it looks like some kind of club maybe. Fries make sense for carbs but I could see Vikings fans being upset about it.

Totally true. I ran into him and that big guy at around 230 - 330 that afternoon. He was wearing those clothes.
