Stop moving OL from their natural positions

Moving Fuagua to guard and adding Spencer Fano as our RT with the 8th pick will upgrade two offensive line positions, giving us the best young right side in recent NFL history.

We'll call them the Polynesian Punishers and well-rested Saints legend Alvin Kamara will have his best season since 2018 at the tender age of 31.

Move :insert: to guard.

This is like the rally cry on this board. It doesn't work like that.

Agreed you try and re-sign Fortner though as McCoy is the new Armstead on this team.

Right. They all swore you just move penning to guard and it will all be fine.

In 7 NFL seasons, has never taken a snap at anything other than Center

But he played guard in college.

The team drafted Ruiz to play center (his natural position) when Drew retired but never made the switch because McCoy played so good. (IMO a mistake and likely derailed Ruizs career)

McCoy played center in college.

Kellen Moore, the head coach, tried that actually

there's a few big Iowa boys that are rated in the 2-3 round range

The 3rd round is the sweet spot for IOL.

I'd keep Fortner as backup to McCoy and find two new guards.

This is great in theory, but Fortner is likely to get offered a starting job this offseason. Hell he graded out better than McCoy this year. That’s with HORRENDOUS G play on his right and left side.

A real conversation will have to happen about moving forward with Fortner as the starter…..and attempting to get something for McCoy (if you want to keep Fortner)

I love McCoy, and WHEN HEALTHY he is a great C. The problem is that he is injury prone
