We've all been here before 2006; I think we were just all hopeful that it wouldn't end so suddenly and we'd at least have a competent QB to follow up from Brees. Then again, maybe we do and it's just DA holding back to the potential

The problem is the monetary commitment that they made to Carr. It signified that they thought just an ok QB would be enough to keep the team going. It was a critically bad evaluation of the talent on this team and the remaining coaching staff. I like the off season moves on the offensive side, but there are still a ton of issues on that side of the ball from a personnel standpoint. Honestly, I think a lot of people would be more interested in a Haener - Rattler duel for the No 1 spot instead of a backup position. And, it would mean you had a lot less money invested in a position and likely getting the same damn results.
