Before the incident that occurred on Sunday night, Cris Collinsworth straight up said that the league has yet to present any evidence to support the claim of intent to injure, which is what they need to do. He also said that from watching the games and from watching the tapes, he saw no evidence of intent to injure from the Saints.

So there's that.

And Florio is part of the MSM.

Yes, he seems to be the leader in covering all of the bullshite. Glad he is staying on this case, regardless of what the majority of those dumbass commenters on that site want to hear.

It will all get shaken out. One way or another.

Sent this guy an email.
quote:

Mr. Cerullo, How do you sleep at night being such a total rat bastard? The New Orleans Saints are a great organization. Its obvious that you have some serious “sour grapes” towards the Saints and are just trying to get back at them. Do you really think that Mr. Goodell is going to take care of you? Do you think that any other coach would ever want you on their staff? You are the worst kind of person. I bet you didn’t have any trouble cashing the Saints pay checks though, did you? How did you ever get a job at Princeton? Based on that email, it obviously didn't require a written exam. I hope you have room for another rectum because Vilma is about to tear you one.

I'd just like to congratulate Cerullo on essentially guaranteeing no other team will ever hire him.

I don't know guys, that's a pretty convincing email. I think Cerullo is telling the truth and has the goods.

Additionally, consider that Benson hasn't fired Payton or Loomis or Vitt in the wake of this scandal. If Cerullo's telling the truth, then why hasn't Benson acted on those things?

I would imagine that Benson is waiting on the results of the Freeh investigation. Depending upon what's in the report, Benson may take action. Seems to me, if the investigation clearly shows some folks clearly ignored warnings from the NFL front office about certain activities, Benson will have to fire those guys.

On the other hand, if the investigation comes up neutral or in favor of the coaches and players, Benson has a lot of ammunition to use to get Goodell fired and compensation from the BS that the NFL has put this organization through (Al Davis would have already filed 10 lawsuit against the NFL if this crap happened to him!).

Ignored warnings from the NFL to stop a completely legal program? That's the thing, if they did ignore warnings, it's because the program was completely legal.

When Goodell thinks to himself about how long this has dragged on and the shite show it has become for the league and his office he has to regret the year long suspension for Vilma.

If he could do it over again I think he gives Vilma 2 games

Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.

He sounds so desperate and vengeful. I'm not saying that statement alone nullifies any testimony by him, but it certainly calls his creditability into question. If the entire case is built on this guys testimony i dont see it holding water.

Ive been back and forth on whether or not i like how much Vilma has been personally fighting this thing, but i have to give him props for sticking with it. The NFL is now getting a second lesson on why you dont frick with the Saints. Everyone remember when they tried to claim they owned the fleur de lis and "who dat" after the Superbowl. This city ate them alive. And now they've tried to arbitrarily impose their will on our franchise again and its biting them in the arse again.

I think if he can do it all over again, he picks another strategy altogether that does not include trying to scapegoat a franchise for mitigating the current and future player safety lawsuits.

Both sides are pot committed though. Goodell can't back down without resigning since it would mean he is acknowledging that he twisted facts and bent reality to fit an agenda which destroyed careers and a franchise's season.

Vilma won't back down because his post-football career hopes in broadcast media is pretty much shot with him being cast as the face of evil.

Can only hope it all comes back around and smacks Goodell and the league in their faces.

Yeah, really.

From the documents I've seen released by the league, which looked like a 5th grader's notes from class to this e-mail...

this whole thing is such a joke. this is the biggeest PR blunder in league history.

The fact that the NFL saw him as a credible source after writing something like that blows my mind

Honest question: Who believes that's a fact?

It's possible they saw an opportunity to mold a witness and railroad a scapegoat and felt justified in doing so because it would make them look good in the lawsuits about injuries and show they are tough on violent behavior on the field. They thought Vilma and the Saints would roll over and take their beating. And if the punishments had been less severe (say 4-6 games for everyone involved) we probably would've been upset, but it wouldn't have come to this. They wouldve just gotten away with it. Instead they laid down insane unprecedented penalties. They meant for a control burn, but they started a wildfire and now they are scrambling to put it out.
