There’s not nearly enough evidence to support an overly strong opinion on that matter right now. Anyone with a dramatic opinion on that is a bitch w an agenda to push.

It boils down to what you think a realistic expectation should be for a 4th round pick on a team like the Saints.

I'd say he'd have to be a legit #3 WR for this trade to make any bit of sense. He's obviously not that.

Vele missed the Saints' Week 3 loss to Seattle with a hip injury, and he was listed as questionable with a hamstring injury ahead of Sunday's matchup versus Buffalo.

I'd argue next year will be the better year to give a true evaluation of Vele and what he becomes in this offense. Again, any sort of strong opinion now is laced with agenda.

I really hate this world some people live in.

It’s a simple sports trade.

What's a fair expectation for a team like the Saints (in need of young talent) getting a middle aged (by NFL standards) WR?

We don't need to know how he turns out in order to opine on what would be needed or the trade to make sense.

considering he's been here for 4 weeks and has been injured for 2, we've had shite OL play with a qb trying to find his groove... i mean shite... look at all of our wr's productions, ain't much there.

My expectation is simple I guess. He performs at the level of a 4th round WR pick for four years.
Then it was worth it.

You are explaining why he hasn't performed yet. That's fine. I'm not trying to argue that.

I'm asking you what the return would need to be for this to be a good trade. That's something you don't need to wait to see in order to offer an opinion.

Age...and the Saints draft position would be a pretty strong argument against that.

You would think you'd get a better return than that...especially in the short term.

I’ve said let’s see what he is by halfway next year. Him being a solid 3-4 big body production guy makes it worth it.

I agree in the "where is he" part. Should in theory be getting much more snaps. He's no rookie.

There’s nothing to judge right now at all.

You are avoiding the question. It was a simple one.

You should be able to set reasonable expectations even if there are reasons that it can't be fairly evaluated yet.

I very clearly answered all your questions. I’m not sure what your confusion is.

So we gave up a top 100 pick for just two years for a receiver that will be 30 when he becomes a free agent?

And you don’t see a problem with that allocation of assets?

I’ll say it again, Pickens was traded for one round earlier, and is putting up #1 receiver numbers and is still only 24…

I saw him on the field but he didn’t do anything.
He over performed as a 7th round draft choice last year for the Broncos but Denver basically got a free 4th round pick out of the deal.

You’re just complaining to complain.

Not Very Inspiring !!

Damn Sean…..
It’s called Robbery/Theft of a 4th rd pick …and your opponent taking advantage of a tired, old, demented man in Loomis.
