I just want to be clear I have been a Jameis supporter. He's a good dude and he can be a serviceable QB.

But I think we have a large enough sample size now.

Last year we won games even with a very anemic offense, and I looked at it as CSP just being ultra conservative with JW to reteach him good habits and then he would gradually take the lid off, then the injury.

But its sorta the same thing this year. He's basically a game manager with a big arm and suspect decision making.

I think we just need a total offensive overhaul. New blood at OC, and we need to be looking for the QB of the future.

And you’d be right, but how often does that happen with JW?

His previous game, TB in 2021 - 11-play 75 yard td drive.

Not looking any more

There is a reason Tampa moved on from the former 1st overall pick
He is not the QB you want in crunch time of a game
He makes too many mistakes
The search will continue to find the next Saints QB
Winston is not the long term answer and Brees extra year really hurt with the Saints transition plans at the position

Ok dumass. Falcons fans were saying the exact same thing. They ran a completely different defense the 4th quarter than what they ran all game. Prevent, soft coverage call it what yiu want, but it was different. You are blind or you know nothing about football if you can’t tell the difference.

And if we get a chance at a HOF qb, we will too. We tried to get watson this past offseason. I'm not saying Winston is a great option... all I'm saying is he has been fine so far. I still want to upgrade if given a shot

Go back and look at the Thomas TDs. Both were in extremely tight windows vs one of the best CBs in the game. It's ok to question Winston, but no reason to shite on him when he does do well

I don't blame Winston as much as I blame the coaches who decided to play him despite his fricked up back. He was clearly off and limited in terms of mobility.

Nah 4 fractures in his back won't affect his deep ball. Put him in

Cool so they ran tight coverage at the goaline or in the red zone and not soft zone? Really now? That’s hard to imagine.

He was injured all last year after getting his shot to start. I get that he doesn’t want to sit hurt again. But If he’s that injured, he shouldn’t be playing.

The problem was it looked like he was chucking the ball up on those deep throws like Randy Moss was on the other end of them. No plan, just heave it. That's vintage Winston, not new and improved Winston

Other side of that, is there are certain teams that will force a QB to have a bad game against. Tampa is one of them

All competitors will want to push through pain. Some times it's up to the medical staff & coaches to make that decision for the player. If his back was affecting his game, the team should have pulled him. We are only in week 2 with a late Bye, "if" his back is that bad you have to make the tough call for the player.

Are you expecting Tom Brady to come walking through the door?

His injured back was clearly a problem for him and I will never understand the reasoning of playing injured QB when a healthy alternative that is just a capable is available. Winston had time on the deep ball and still missed extremely bad. He looked amateurish on those deep balls.

[quote]Stat padding in garbage time. [/quot

So leading a team to a win in the 4th quarter of the first game is stat padding?? It’s just frightening how stupid some of you are.

The vast majority of this board did not watch what TB did to Dak Prescott in week 1 apparently.

We beat Tampa during the regular season last year and Brees and Payton lost the playoff game. One game doesn't matter at all.
