We didn’t change.

The Saints did.

And that’s why we hate them and aren’t watching that garbage team any more.

Prove it.

Everything in that post is a stone cold fact.

The problem is this board has no mod or an absent one if that person exists.

Time to delete all the political shite and move on. Or make one sticky topic for all the crap to be spewed in.

You call it a stone cold fact, but your first sentence proves that you still do not understand why Drew's teammates were upset with him.

You aren't a teammate, for one. You don't have to work with him. For two, and more importantly, you aren't black. It's obviously a dynamic that you cannot understand. You first sentence proves that.

And I don't really care what national media is saying. Im worried about the team. No one thinks Drew is a racist, as you said. So don't go talking about teammates to what every nutjob on twtiter and TV is saying about Brees.

Becoming?

This place has always been reactive. I use to be the master of ceremonies of that nonsense.

Just laugh. It's funny as frick.

The question you should be asking is why the Saints, a source of entertainment, thought it was best to alienate a number of their fans by becoming just another SJW org spewing biased and incorrect narratives.

You'd be surprised. While only anecdotal, I have not watched a game other than the Saints for the last 3 years with a rare exception here and there. It's not out of some protest of the NFL; it's that the politicization of (as you rightly point out) a watered down product has turned me off to it. The moment the league screwed us against the Rams is when I completely tuned out. I did not watch either of the last 2 Super Bowls, and I tapped out of all playoff games after we got screwed.

All of this nonsense going on now pushes me and others like me further away. Yes I do plan to sell all my tickets this year, because I do not want to go to political rallies on Sundays. No I will not watch NFL this year just as I had not last year. Yes I most likely will watch Saints games, but honestly I don't know how interested I actually will be in them. It's too soon to tell.

Don't lecture me about not understanding because I'm not black. Thats a cop out. And if Brees can't inherently understand things because of his whiteness, he should have been given more grace by his teammates. If you, or anyone else really cared about the dynamics of the team, you would have an issue with players bashing Brees on social media rather than keeping it in house.

Furthermore, you are in no position to say that "no one thinks Brees is a racist". He's been called one be MANY people throughout this ordeal and that's not a label white people take lightly or live down easily.

You dont understand why the other players were mad. I was giving you the benefit of the doubt rather than call you flat out ignorant.

he should have been given more grace by his teammates.

Everyone has met and things are good. The team dynamic is fine. Malcolm Jenkins was the first one to accept his apology. Michael Thomas has publicly written that they are good.

So are you mad because of how they handled, or are you just mad that you don't share the same opinion?

It's 2020 man. People don't handle media stuff in house. Brees interview pops up on social media. That is how people respond. You might not like it, you might be old school, but that is how things go down in 2020.

urthermore, you are in no position to say that "no one thinks Brees is a racist".

You are in no position to say that his teammates think that either.

What happened to your "stone cold facts"?

You want to go from talking about what Michael Thomas said to all of a sudden what Shannon Sharpe said? Da hell you even talking about right now

NOTHING is ever received well when it’s forced down someone’s throat

You just have to accept that people (especially adults) like to use sports as an escape from the everyday bullshite. But when everything political spills over into the sports world, it becomes an issue.

Not sure why that’s so hard to understand

Same. I had never missed a Super Bowl in my adult football watching.

In the minds of SJW, they don't want anyone to have an escape. BLACKS ARE DYING IN THE STREETS ERRRYDAY. The more uncomfortable people are, the better for their cause. These organizations are playing right into the racebaiters' hands while alienating fans with a flawed and exclusive message.

Players can be mad. They have that right. They also have a team to consider and a championship to win. Champions should have the discipline to minimize distractions and neither Brees nor Thomas showed that discipline. Brady paraded around the locker room with a Trump hat, yet quietly kept his politics to himself and handled his political differences with teammates privately.

You are trying to boil all of this down to where we are now, as if the public castration of Brees, the negative press around the team, and the lingering feelings are all blown away in the wind. You are a fool if you think things are all good and back to normal. If they were too immature to keep this discreet, they are almost certainly too immature to not let this affect the team.

I really don't care what Brees or anyone else thinks about police brutality. I don't seek social and political advice from immature athletes. What I care about is a team on the precipice of a Superbowl giving into emotion and not having the discipline to handle their private differences privately.

What happened is not ok because everyone said they were sorry and went back home.

Handling private differences on public forums is not the way things are handled in a professional environment. How old are You? Do you argue with your wife in the middle of a restaurant? Do you shout down your coworkers in the breakroom in front of everyone? If MT had an issue with what was said in the interview, he could have confronted Brees in person, like a man, received his apology, then gone to bat for his friend as people like Sharpe were tearing him down. He clearly recognized the dangers of social media, since shortly before this happened he vowed to get off of it. Wish he had.

It sucks.

Sports does such a great job bringing people together. Now it's dividing our own fans, because of all this stuff.

Sports talk has been pushing agendas for years, but now I can't imagine just how much worse it will get.

I am still not at a level of giving up my fandom. I have given up watching other teams at the professional level, but I will still follow and cheer on my favorite team.

I just don't watch ESPN unless a game is on. I just like to watch games. Not listen to each player's or talking head's "perspective".

You say this with a straight face after Brees was dragged through the mud for something as benign and uncontroversial as respecting the flag. Michael Bennet falsely accused the police of threatening to shoot him in the head for being black and was nominated for Walter Peyton Man of the Year.
