Twenty years ago I hit a low overpass with a trackhoe boom somewhere outside of Chicago. 35 mph to a dead stop hurts pretty bad. Broken ribs take forever to heal.

My favorite are those Enterprise trucks. Impressive speed to peel the entire top off.

Most of those guys with the trailer homes had no idea their shite was just ripped off the top.

This thread has been created about the same number as vehicles that have hit this bridge.

You'd think the city would put a HUGE sign about 1/2mile away, with a flimsy pole to test if the vehicle could make it at the height.

Given the road set up, their warning system is pretty slick for drivers doing what they are supposed to.

It detects of a car will hit the bridge and starts flashing for them to take a turn. Lots of videos of trucks doing this.

There is a bridge in Nola that had the same problem. They put signs at the same height about 50 yards out last year so you hit those first, seems to have fixed the problem

The level of care I have about that is about as low as this bridge.

I like how the cars behind the trucks are always prepared to come to a stop.

The box truck accidents are the most fun to watch. They peel back like a sardine can.

i live in the area and seriously laughed out loud when i saw it in person. they have so many advanced warning devices and people still hit it. there is a light up led sign that will flash if the approaching vehicle is too tall, but it gets hit anyway.

You damn well the rental companies go over this over and over and over. You have to be an idiot to hit that in this day. For one, if you are using a moving truck you live in the area and most should already know. But secondly there's no way they aren't wanted 10 times over about it.

You should see the one right outside Meridian,Ms. On Hwy 80. It’s lower than that. With signs both ways in two or three spots and you still have one or so a month. The county employees hauling big equipment has to go around the world just to get to their yard that’s right by it. Don’t understand how they miss all the signs.

There's an 11'6" bridge in Omaha similar to this one that keeps getting drilled.

Also one painted as the top half of a sharks mouth and eyes - don't remember where that onen is.
