not at all. Just giving advice based off personal experience, which I'm assuming is what the OP came here for.

I had a great time tailgating in Tuscaloosa, but God forbid LSU wins. It's amazing how quickly the Alabama fans I met went from hospitable to angry based off how their team did.

Certainly not saying that's how all Alabama fans are. Every fan base has them, ours included. But I really haven't seen anything of note in Tuscaloosa outside campus. Nice campus though.

For what it's worth, it's far better to get there on a Thursday or Friday to do some exploring and eating. Gamedays are always a total clusterfrick. There's plenty of good drinks and eats to do, and some nice chunks of nature as well.

In fairness, I've only shown up on Friday evenings, so I'll have to take you at your word.

But my experience has been: enjoy campus, tailgate with people and enjoy the hospitality, and either: win, and show up to the exact same tailgate (humbly) only to be told rudely to gtfo; or lose, and have the same gracious people treat you like shite.

Again, this behavior isn't eclusive to Alabama. But unfortunately that's my experience there. And in my drives to and from the campus, it looks like a lot of nothing from the car.

honestly, this has basically been my experience at most all away games...I just generally plan to pack it up and head back to the hotel room when the game is done...nothing good will come from socializing with away fans after the game is done, IMO....

City Cafe is a shithole. Cypress Inn sucks now that the divorcee wife is running it.

Yep. Once the game is over gtfo. BAMA fans are bad winners and sore losers.

To be fair, I haven't been to either one of them in about 6 years.

Tuscaloosa is pretty fun. LSU and Bama are so similar it's ridiculous, everywhere else becomes a bit disappointing

Waysider is a cool breakfast joint if you want to see a lot of Alabama football photos and portraits (pricey though), Archibalds is great, the strip is pretty cool. I'd go over to Gallettes to get a yellowhammer, or three, and the souvenir cup. It's a small town in size around campus and you'll figure it out pretty quick

Always travel in groups. When LSU wins, either A.) make sure you are around a lot of LSU fans or B.) gtfo of there.

For the 9-6 game, they had an old man call the cops on us accusing us of vadilizing his car. (this never happened, we were literally walking down the side walk and he approached with these accusations). Then some 25ish year old dude spit in my buddy's face and proceeded to sprint away yelling "eff you corn dogs".

On the other end of the spectrum though, there were several fans who were more than generous and it's a hell of a time before the game. Just remember you need to have thick skin.

You heard me. Waffle House is much better if that is the kind of junk that floats your boat. Over cooked vegetables from a can. Gross, gross, gross.
