I pay my mexican laborers $20/hr.
You are underpaid and need to ditch the "loyalty" to your employer. Make no mistake, he doesn't give a frick about you personally. He wants the best worker for the lowest wage and he's found that in you.
Make a plan. If you want to stay in this business, Id start planting seeds with customers like someone mentioned.
Make yourself the face of the company and start your own thing in a few years. Take customers. Additionally, it never hurts to inconspicuously rub elbows with competitors. I got 2 jobs this way in my 20s.
If you show loyalty to an employer, it'll just hold you back professionally.

He's at a college job, take the better experience for what you want to do long term. The benefits or $2 an hour don't really matter.

Honestly, what do you like to do? See if their are certifications to do this and what they cost. If not then trade school, while working then get out of both the jobs you listed and prosper.

Your boss loves you because you’re working basically for free baw. He didn’t get loaded by being a generous fool.

You need to go to trade school

You better have another job while you spend the next 24 months in a class 7 hours a day, five days a week before you are signed off to take the tests and the oral and practical exam to get certificated.

Even in avionics, 40 is kinda late to get started in aviation. Most companies look at that as a negative with no actual hands on experience brought forward, esp in avionics or as an electrician.

The two things I would do are
1. Tell your boss you got another job offer at a larger company for more money, don’t tell him how much. Negotiate higher pay or, even better, negotiate commission for the stuff you are selling, then you can sell sell sell and make more money, and help your boss out at the same time.
2. Go back to the bank and negotiate higher pay, not just $1-$2 more but $10 more. Or take the same approach and ask for some kind of commission

Get the one with benefits, get a CompTIA A+ certificate and Security + and double your income by the end of the year with a different job.
