Who was the NFL appealing to?
My wife knows some hispanics who can barely speak English, but she knows a lot more who rarely speak Spanish including some who are not very good at it.
The NFL assumes fans are going to watch the game regardless, and hopes the halftime show brings in viewers who aren’t fans. The show hasn’t been about the actual football fans for a while.

People around the world that speak Spanish
People that don’t need to completely understand the lyrics to enjoy music

This. The NFL has been playing games in other counties for 20 years and you dumbfricks are all bent out of shape when they market the halftime show to the rest of the world. Don’t like it? Don’t watch it.

The audiences they are trying to get. They already have you (if you watched the Super Bowl).

The international market honestly. They already have the US market locked down. Bad bunny is the most streamed musician in the world. By a large margin. This was really obvious when right before the halftime show they were showing all the different watch parties from around the world.

My favorite part was how they used an indigenous and dying form of Puerto Rican sign language that is used by about 10,000 people in the world, rather than ASL which is used across the globe, including by most deaf Puerto Ricans.

Be careful driving home tonight, friends. No one who performed in the Super Bowl halftime show has car insurance.

Well we live in a global economy. And the more people who watch the NFL the more networks, streaming services, etc want to air the product.
So they should continue to alienate their base?
