Only way to survive unless you are a boutique meet or oaklawn I think.
Santa Anita still chugging away but for the most part with small fields

Maybe adopt all of them and just release them into the wild of Colorado, Wyoming or Montana?

Oaklawn went racino 10 to 15 years ago. Slots with the chainsmokers cruising up those beautiful original Peb's on the walls.

Santa Anita has weather and Hollywood to help them stay successful. When you have lots of rich folks next to your track in critical mass it helps.

I forgot that! I’m just used to seeing the backside at fairgrounds start to empty out when their stalls open up. Though oklawn does a good job of attracting actual racing fans too.

Quarter horse racing season started today at LA Downs. Just thought I’d throw that out there for the horse crowd.

Hot Springs was a safe city for the mob so it allowed old world resort development. In a world of Wal Mart this is the opposite of where the future fans need to come from.

Poor lad is on its death rattle.
A shame. It’s actually the best facility in this state.

In what aspect? I’ve never talked to a trainer or horseman who was jazzed about a meet at LAD.
Granted, I don’t make it a point of conversation.

What is the story of your sig line about Honda shrinkage?

52 horses would probably feed a lot of people, let the cards fall where they fall. I’ve yet to understand why Americans refuse to eat horse meat, probably because most Americans don’t know what’s it like to be actually hungry.

Don’t give him the attention he is seeking.
Some stupid video inside joke with BB the poster.

Americans are not barbarians
I can assure you in the Great Depression and the 2nd World War there was plenty of poverty and hunger but even then we did not stop so low as to eat the animals that helped man survive.
