Answer is 1

I assume this is some bullshite trick where 1/3 is a fraction, not a divide symbol

3/ (1/3)= 9

9-9+1= 1

The answer is 1... not debatable

Order of operations places
3÷1/3 first... which is the same as 3×3... dividing by the fraction is the same as multiplying by the reciprocal

So, 9-9+1

= 1

Game over

that wasn't to the op problem, it was to this one.

quote:

3726/6÷9/((6÷1)/2÷1/3)÷1

after you do parenthesis work it comes to

3726/6/9/9/1

3726/6=621

621/9= 69

69/9=7.66666666666667

7.666666666667/1=7.66666666667

ETA: I assumed it was a fraction
However, if the 1/3 in parenthesis is not a fraction, then it comes to 69. I see where he got the answer, it just depends on if that is a fraction or not

6/1=6
6/2=3
3/1=3
3/3=1

Wouldn't the correct answer be 7?

1) do the fraction of 1/3 first.....

2) do 3 divide by 1/3 = 1

3) 9 - 1 + 1

4) 9-2 = 7

I think we should ban all threads with poorly written math problems.

I did not read the entire thread but I don't think I saw a single person go through all the steps like you did and get every one of them wrong. That's impressive.

3 divided 1/3 = 1

so that is 9 - 1 + 1

do 1 + 1 = 2

9-2 = 7

You're making Ga. proud, boy.

3 ÷ 1/3 = 9.

-1 + 1 = 0

But keep on trucking

While I suspect you are trolling because even people from Georgia are not this stupid, imagine this scenario. You have 3 whole peach pies. You cut each pie into three pieces, i.e., thirds, or one-thirds.

How many pieces of pie are there?
