Perspective From a former driver. Car in front of you is going below your cruise governed speed. You get in the left lane to pass. You get beside the car and then they think, “ I don’t want to be beside this big truck. I’ll speed up!” Big truck falls back into the right lane. Five miles later, the car is slow again, truck tries to pass etc., etc. rinse and repeat. It’s not always the truckers fault.

My trucker buddy says that is his favorite route to drive bc it's more big trucks than commuters.

'DUEL'. Made for TV movie. A very young Steven Spielberg's directorial debut.
Still his best effort IMO. Budget: Few hundred bucks.
On-edge "Terror" *without* CGI super-demons, ghosts, blood, guns, or explosions.

That stretch of I40 between Memphis and Little Rock sucks arse. I hate driving it due to all the trucks.

That happens for commuter vehicles as well, it's especially ridiculous when it's just the two of you in a given stretch (like I49 between Opelousas and Alexandria or I55 anywhere from Hammond to Hernando not around Jackson). You would swear they must have an allergic reaction to cruise control.

All I can say is if you hate slow trucks then you need to write your representatives in congress before Peternityleave Bootyjudge and the Biden admin sign truck governing speed limiters into law. Gonna have a lot of 65mph blockades going on between the poor souls left in the industry if they actually push that shite legislation through.

DUEL was a really good movie.

That’s when both are speed limited. The truck in the right lane.. who is somehow a microscopic bit slower because the truck in the left got beside him, could back off and let the one on the left pass.
Oh but frick no. That would keep him from getting to the truck stop that 5 seconds faster to get on tik tok to complain about bad drivers in cars.

Agreed, trucking is core to our economy. I appreciate the industry and the profession.
That doesn't make truckers above reproach or without fault. There are a LOT of shitty truck drivers on the road.

I try to keep an hour leeway on the 11/14/70 limits at minimum so there's no reason to stress over getting behind a Prime Inc truck governed at 62 or a JB Hunt at 65.

This includes you Ford F350 drivers (and similar) going 69.5 in a 70 the entire time from Florida to Texas, without moving over once.

Be careful messing with truckers now.

We all understand the frustration of the big trucks going slow in the left lane.
But just know that most of these companies have governors on these trucks and they can only go 65 mph (or whatever the allowed speed)
It sucks, but knowing this will also help the blood pressure knowing they’re not just being a dickhead by not speeding up to pass quickly.

Anything bigger than a F150 has no business in the left lane

If your vehicle is governed to 5 below the speed limit, keep your arse in the right lane! No 65 mph truck should be in the passing lane, ever.
