I threw the checkbook into my audit software. It has the Mayor's reimbursements. Almost all are for travel but there is one for $300 Capitol City Blue & Gold 48X24 Art - Other Operating & MT Supplies

Be careful. The fine mayor exposed the names of CI's through this kind of shite then had to send the DA over to get the info back

i'm gonna go ahead and just leave this post here to say that i was here on page 2.
it's only a matter of time one of the OT sleuths or someone else in BR digs thru this and finds some very incriminating evidence against Broome and her cronies in office. Not if, but when they do. this thread will explode for 100+ pages. Because these pitiful excuses of elected officials barely speak English, much less can properly account for all the taxpayers money they waste, give away, or embezzle themselves.

Either this will be never updated or it will only be lies.
The costs of sending committees to Austin, Seattle, Honolulu, Tahiti, and Monte Carlo will never be publicly accounted for.

This actually is a step forward if it holds up to third party scrutiny and audits. I believe that, legally speaking, government spending must always be public information. However, nothing says that they have to make it easy to get at, they just have to give you what you ask for. Accessing that information historically has been a pain in the arse involving trips to City Hall, filling out the right forms, making the proper requests, etc. On top of that, you had to know what you were looking for; cities typically don't allow you to browse through their books like you're in a library. While they're legally required to provide the public the information, they're also legally bound to ensure the information is correct and is properly kept to preserve the information, so you're not getting your hands on their actual records. They will provide you information as legally required, but ONLY what you specifically ask for. Think of it like asking a librarian for a piece of information. But instead of handing you the book you need, they make a copy of the page of the book that has what you asked for, black everything out that isn't what you asked for and hand the redacted copy to you.
This is a giant step forward for public ease of access to the information, provided it's a direct dump of all the city's records that includes all of the information that is legally required to be part of the public record. In other words, it's great if they don't just keep the shady shite under wraps and still make you jump through hoops to get to that information while giving the illusion of transparency by showing all the other stuff readily through the web portal.
It'll be fun to see how the information in the web portal matches up with the budget reports when third parties (i.e. the weaponized autism of the internet) start dissecting this information.
Also, how you doing, Chris Nakamoto? I CANNOT WAIT to see your report on what you find.

Yeah i bet this runs smoothly
Expenditures can be traced down to who a check was written to by the C-P government.
ETA: For example, I had no idea the C-P government writes a check to the Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra every quarter for $23,750.

If I had to throw out a guess, it's likely the cash given to CIs to conduct a controlled buy. After the buy, police make the arrest and take the money back (confirming the serial numbers).
But, I could be wrong and they are straight up paying CIs. Nothing would really surprised me at this point

DIVISION - EMS Operations wrote check # 1411 fifty eight times to John A Jarreau for different types of vehicle repairs. Does anyone know what actual business this is for?

John A Jarreau for different types of vehicle repairs. Does anyone know what actual business this is for?
It appears to be a gas station/tire/vehicle repair shop in Baker.

Anybody look at COA spending yet?

Looked into it and he owns the Texaco station in Baker. It's a service station too

the UI, functionality, and ease of use...
gotta say, that's a finely tuned and engineered website.

Thanks. I'm not sure why the same check number was used over and over for different invoices. FIRE - Special Services uses them too, but they are not duplicating check numbers

You'll likely never see an itemized breakdown of the COA's expenditures. It is a private organization that has almost zero oversight, yet is publicly funded. It's good to be a quasi-governmental organization.
The city-parish cuts checks to the COA for them to do with as they please. Since this new website only shows city-parish expenditures, it will show the payouts to the COA, but not what the COA does with the money. It gives me warm fuzzy feelings to see the record of the city-parish writing a check for $6,661,182.86 to the COA and a total of $9,047,018.85 over the year.
Your tax dollars at work!
Property tax collection, property tax collection, ...booth?!
ETA: Not exactly a private organization. Public charity would probably be more accurate.

Broome is an idiot, but her administration has done a wonderful job of drastically upgrading the city-parish websites.

That gas station in Baker is likely where the EMS vehicles in that part of the parish all gas up their vehicles and the drivers have a CP issued credit card or some other credit arrangement to pay with.

That's the beauty of the COA scam. They give them money and the COA isn't obligated to track it through public records because it's a charity org, not a government organization

They have mastered the art of BS. They sure can "talk pretty" and throw out a couple of communities, moving forwards, reaching out, and inclusiveness' while they waste and embezzle what they can before the St George Brexits from the BS. I choose to watch from my neighboring parish while my property value steadily goes up. Screw BeeRuah
