Did your wife’s boyfriend vote for Kumala too?
That's funny. My wife died 5 years ago. No boyfriend that I was aware of.
I have health insurance from the Govt. and it is stupid cheap. Don't hate me for using the system that is available. Many years left till Medicare.
Private insurance was around 2K per month. Healthcare.gov is only $175 for me and my two early 20's boys. We are all healthy so it makes sense to play the game. Others get free shite from he govt, Why not cash in while i can.

your health care is not coming from the gov. Your Healthcare is coming from BCBS, UHC, Centene, etc. The gov is paying those companies on your behalf based on income and size of household.
An ACA plan, by nature is stupid expensive because those plans are not underwritten and cannot exclude pre-existing conditions<-----that makes them expensive naturally. What makes them affordable is the subsidies. COVID subsidies expire in December, so everyone on the ACA is likely to see an increase.
I have plenty of wealthy clients on ACA plans. Plenty of poors as well. But, your typical trust fund baby, who has little to no income, can live in a million dollar home and get subsidized coverage bc they have little to no income.

I know this. BCBS is the carrier and for insurance it is pretty poor. High deductibles and crazy Out of Pocket. But we are relatively young and healthy so if the system is set up to receive premium subsides why would I not take advantage. I make sure my earned income is low and get super cheap catastrophic insurance. I didn't write the rules. I only play the game that's presented.

Me nor anyone in my family has been on welfare. I only use the healthcare system per the rules. My father was a plant operator and supported the union and our family of 6. Sent 3 through college and the other sibling joined the union and quickly bought his own house a couple of years after high school.
So you can call me what you want, but welfare queen is not accurate. I retired at 54 and paid plenty into the system before my retirement.

Premium subsidies are about $1200
Ok cool, now I don’t feel bad for you. Enjoy your free healthcare while the rest of us pay 4-5x what you do while not nearly making 4-5x what you do.

No need to feel bad for me. I've worked in some capacity since I was 14 years old. Payed plenty in taxes, FICA, and Medicare. So forty years later I had an opportunity to retire. I didn't write the rules for healthcare and I don't feel guilty getting the subsidies. Become "poor" like me and you can get your own share of the pie.

I've owned a health Ins agency for 35 years. You have nothing to worry about. If the policy was purchased "On Exchange" applicants must go through "Identity Proofing" to verify that the applicant actually exists.
Addresses aren't a part of that verification process. Someone, somewhere in the process entered the wrong address.
Now, of the policy arrived in your name that would be a cause for concern.
And by the way, all the health insurance that you folks have is ACA(Affordable Care Act) qaulified. Doesn't matter whether it was individually purchased "On or "Off" exhange or is an employer sponsored group health plan its all ACA Health Insurance.

I was mostly worried about some scumbag was using my address for their insurance. The ACA people basically said don’t worry. I have the papers for their enrollment. I’ll likely shred them once things stop.

Gotcha,
I can't see how using another person's address could possibly benefift anyone. There is another possibility, did you look at the name of the insured? Are they a neighbor? Did a few numbers in the address simply get transposed? Possibly by the issuing insurance company?

I did variable mailing as a living. I totally understand how the addresses could get scrambled. We fricked up for a major client once. Before I got involved. Sent many credits to some undeserving clients. I receive my benefits from the USA. Just didn’t want some illegal skimming off the top.

None that I’m aware of. One Nextdoor neighbor is from Louisiana. Actually we grew up about a few miles from each in Baker. The other Nextdoor is a black guy that works for United Airlines. The two across the street are long time residents. The alleged insured has four last names. No doubt some illegal
