It's to white people what "...isha" is to black folk.

Fun fact, adding the -leigh to any name started into 1410s and originated in Prague bathhouses to denote who was and isn’t a whore.
Leigh directly translates to whore.

Lest we forget that ":Fitz" was added to last names to denote bastardy in the time of Henry VIII.
Referring to an important Kennedy as Honey Fitz may have caused that bit of history to be buried for a while.

quote:
It’s white people’s version of adding an apostrophe.
White women to be specific. In past generations, it was typically white fathers who named children, names like Mary, Elizabeth, Susan, etc. were the norm. Spellings of these names were, for the most part, traditional.
Now white mothers choose many, maybe most, names. That’s why we get these odd sounding, and unnecessarily elaborately spelled, names.

Ah yes.. Leigh. A name of caucasian origin used to convey white trash heritage. See also: xtyn/xton, the male version.
Example: Yea... were having Paxleighs birthday at the shelter by the park next to the dollar general.... im hoping her daddy gon stop by but he said he might be muddin that day.
