IMO leaving the PI report with the will is awful. I get it, your wife cheated, and you filed for divorce. Is that not enough?? FWIW your wife screwed up but you should NEVER involve your kids in your marital woes...you already made your kids pick sides and now they hate their mom. What she did was awful, terrible, grounds for divorce, but you should never involve your kids in your shite. Just my opinion.
