The alleged original 911 call has been released that led LE to the area. You cannot hear the caller. Can only hear the operator relaying the message to LE. Looking forward to hearing both sides of this call.

The first video shows him being tazed. There is no way the cops just came up to him and tazed him without a single word being spoken.

Do you think the cops said anything to him before the taser went off, yes or no? Any instructions at all?

That does not answer the ultimate question: Was the officer right in shooting him?

Yes. If the officer felt their lives were in danger bc Sterling was trying to get his gun out, yes he deserved to die for it. Would it be better if they had hesitated and died for it? Or an innocent bystander got hit with a stray round? No. The right person died.

Legally yes. But sometimes it may be better to try and hold that arm a bit longer and try and subdue him. These two LEO's will not be charged.

I am just glad I am not in their position, before or after the shooting.

If it is obtuse to stick to actual facts, then guilty as charged.

It bugs me that you are making assumptions based on your experience. Other protesters are making the opposite assumptions based on their experience. Few are really trying to look at verifiable facts.

You've done nothing but make assumptions for the last several pages.

Here, we also agree. No matter what else happens, they are screwed for life, I'd guess.

You can't seriously be suggesting that he deserved to die because he ripped off Universal Studios or Columbia Records.
He didn't ask you if he deserved to die, he asked you if he'd still be alive.

Those are 2 distinctly different phrases.

Do we KNOW that he had a gun?
The store owner (who is "on Alton's side") has said there was a gun pulled from his pocket. The officers have said so in a statement. The mother said he doesn't own one and that a phone was pulled form his pocket. No confirmation one way or another.

Really? And by the way, that's ad hominem.

Then I'm going to have to say you are blind. The videos start with him being tazed and then being tackled to the ground (guns are not drawn at this point). That is two of the three non-lethal tactics used to subdue the suspect.

And that was kind of a cheap shot and a distortion. So let me put it to you bluntly: Do you have actual evidence that they approached him less than aggressively? I'm not talking about your assumptions. I am talking about what you know. And don't put words in my mouth.

The eye witness reports have all stated that they saw officers talking with Sterling. This isn't some made up assumption. This is fact of the case. You are being either deliberately obtuse or just plain dumb. The officers are responding to a threat of a man waving a gun at people matching his description. They would be justified to approach him guns drawn just at that. They didn't however. He did not have a gun out, so they go to three non-lethal methods to subdue him. These aren't assumptions. These are basic facts of the case.

Didn't the eye witness (owner of store) say "(the police) pulled a gun from him after they shot him"?

Didn't she say yesterday that he carried one for his protection that he just got a week or so ago?

Thanks. I read in the NYT I think that the police waffled on whether he had a gun.

I've read conflicting reports as well. I gave the one that was contradictory to the officers since it was the only one.
