I'm not necessarily pro-marriage, but I think that stat is misleading.
You have a select subset of people that have no business ever getting married, that end up getting married multiple times. Due to multiple factors their likelihood of getting divorced is orders of magnitude higher than an average couple. These type of people skew the numbers.
I don't think the likelihood of an average couple divorcing is anywhere near 50%, which is what that statistic would suggest.

I lived with my ex-gf for almost 2 years and then we ended things. I dodged a bullet there by not getting married and easily being able to walk away without any trouble when it was over.

From that's same link -
Percentage of arranged marriages in India: 88.4
Divorce rate: 1.2
Holy shite

Divorce generally happens as a result of getting married for the wrong reasons. First wrong reason is if sex is at the top of the list and all other aspects of attraction are a distant 2nd. That will bust a marriage up every time. Count on it.

Not wrong but definitely misleading

I don't see myself getting married again. The ONLY reason to do it is for tax/insurance reasons, and I am not sure that is a good enough reason.
