I’ll give you some non-legal advice. Don’t pay your lawyer $250 an hour to argue about a $100 coffee table.

What state are you in? Each state is different when it comes to divorce.

I'm not exactly a lawyer, but I have been arrested several times, and I stayed in a Holiday Inn last night. Well, technically, in my car in a parking lot outside a Holiday Inn. So ask away.

What state? My advice is the same a gave to my sister, don’t get divorced. Basically you are going to take half your assets and give it to someone that hates your guts, a big chuck of what’s left to your lawyer to keep it from being worse, and be a miserable mfer for next 5 years.

Not necessarily. Of course, depending on the state he lives in, it doesnt mean she will get half of everything.

No kidding. Already spent 1200.00. Just talking on the phone and her(my lawyer) answering emails

I think I'd quit sending emails and calling.

Those .6's add up.

I'm in Alabama. Our salaries are very similar, but I own a business I bought a month after we were married. I also am part-owner of another business I had prior to marrying her. She is saying she wants a percentage of the profits for X amount of years. She has no ownership in these businesses. We've been married 11 years. She also has a very nice pension. I don't. I'm relying on my business as a retirement. Does she have credence to her demands?

I see huge crazy variations in alabama divorces for some reason, much more than any other state I practice. It seems judges have much more latitude than in Louisiana, Mississippi or Texas. I highly suggest you hire the judges best friend cousin etc.
