The same thing happened to me with Stare Farm. My only guess is the agent got an origination fee because the list of “items to be addressed” from underwriting were fundamentally part of the property and obvious.

- 40’ wide driveway required. The aerial photo clearly shows it’s 1 car width wide.
- 2 access points to the property required. It’s on a dead end road.
- Two emergency vehicles might not be able to pass each other. It’s a two lane county road.

I haven’t had home insurance in 8 years. Screw those snakes.

Pay cash for your house and give them the middle finger. Owned homes for 20 years. No claims.

Nope. He’ll get a chargeback for whatever commission he already received.

Sounds like he was just lazy and didn’t look at satellite or street view online or doesn’t know the underwriting guidelines

Prob one of his underlings.

owned and very intertwined with All State

They ar, but they're run as to totally separate entities. Long story short, Independent agentss write a lot of Nat Gen, and they've been pretty good to us and our clients

I was going to start a thread about an issue I recently had. Have comprehensive coverage and a leak in my sunroof that ran down the back of my car through the carpet onto the audio module and shorted it out. Insurance company doesn’t want to cover it. Had a big rain event about 10 inches over 2 days that led to this. They argued it was normal wear and tear (rusted part of sunroof) caused leak. Car is 5 years old.

Sorry, but thats likely the same answer you’ll get regardless of insurance company.

If the sunroof was leaking due to damage from a singular event like hail, falling tree branch, or vandalism….then it would be covered.

If its happening because of rust or worn out seals, thats wear and tear that happened over a long period of time and going to end up denied.

Appreciate the answer. Thats wild to me since I can’t imagine most people are getting up on top of the sunroof to check the drains and seals, etc. and it’s not something covered by routine maintenance.

Yeah, most underwriting guidelines are gonna want that closed in with at very least lattice work.

I can tell you that SageSure will allow open foundations with most of their carriers we write for.

So, my local agent had no idea about the letter from national State Farm. They thought I was good.

That’s not the first time that has happened. they got together and said I have until the end of the month to install lattice work to cover the gap.
