No.
Watched coverage all today with both of them and talked about it with them. They'll be fine.

At this rate my son might be the most intelligent man in the US

No because they won’t have to worry about working. The country will finally wake up and implement universal basic income.

Turn off the news
Statistically, we live in the safest, most peaceful time in world history with the greatest percentage of people educated and living outside of poverty.

Most generations think society has crumbled and future offspring/generations are fricked, like I do.
Big perspective: My mother's father died when she was 13 in 1958. He was a cajun boy already complaining about the immorality & lewdness of RnR on society.
Imagine if he saw JFK/MLK killed,Civil Rights movement, sex & drug revolution, anti-war protests, 2nd wave feminism, dollar devalue/inflation, gas shotages, Iranian hostages...
In other words, it's all relative.

Teach them self reliance, they'll be fine.

YEp. My “baby” is 19. When she was 3 days short of 6 months old, I was feeding and rocking her when NBC broke with the news of the Towers and the attacks of 9/11.
My other kids were 4 and 9.
I fed her, rocked her and sobbed all the while wondering what had I done bringing an innocent child(ren) into this world.
That said, they’re good kids — kind, hard working, thoughtful, good kids. Real din do nuffons.
But I do worry for their futures. Probably needlessly I know as it does ebb and flow.

I don’t have kids but this isn’t working. Political correctness has this country on the edge of ruin. Drastic measures will need to be taken if we want to preserve the country as we know it.

We just had our first. 9 weeks old tomorrow. I’m very worried about the world he’s going to have to grow up in

Distant future, no. Immediate future, yes. The Dems will obviously stop at nothing to make sure our children can’t return to a normal school year next fall.
Our own children are fortunate enough to have a stay at home mom so whatever contingency plan EBR chooses - half a day, rotating days, etc. is manageable. But not everyone can manage that. Mom and Dad have to work.
Also, all children need socialization whether that is sports, scouts, clubs, etc.
What we have seen is that certain politicians will stop at nothing to control power with no regard to our children, our families, our economy, etc. Where is the line?

Am I the only one that thinks this is all going to lead to something better in the future?
I mean, we’re gonna learn from all of this, and we’ll be better for it going forward. Adversity builds character. Imagine if life was hunky dory all the time and our kids never had to struggle or sacrifice. You want them to growing up like democrats? frick all that.

It’s going to get worse. The poor and uneducated reproduce at a greater rate than the producers in our society.

I know. Still better than having a hand out and expecting everything to be handed to you. I can’t imagine that mindset. What a demented, pathetic existence.
