Played a lot growing up. I need to get back to it. Thanks for bringing it back to my mind.

Not anymore but I was known as Tallahassee red back in a former life. So much water under the bridge. But that was a different time.

It’s how I made my money during my college days in the 70s. Started at 12 years old and have a knack for the game.

Beat Steve Mizerak in 9 ball when he was promo touring for Bud Light. Steve was more interested in his blonde big tits assistant and by my game had had a few Bud Lights.

There were five almost unbeatable sharks in Nola I knew of all slightly better than me. One was a Nola detective mob connected. Lost $800 and, in the last game we played that afternoon, also my clothes. I was 18 yrs old. Beat him several years later scary guy never played him after that.

Played traveling sharks that passed thru Nola lost to most of them. By now I’m older and wiser and know when to quit.

Never played big money games in bars on coin tables. Drunks losing are unpredictable. Bar sharks are usually not and easy to spot but not my game.

Think of pool as geometry, look at least three or four shots ahead and it becomes an easier game.

I haven’t played seriously in 20 years too many other interests now. But really enjoyed it in my days shooting.

Yes and love it. Grew up with a table. We bought a house in October and one of my conditions was that they leave the pool table. Try to play 3-4 times a week.

I grew up with a pool table and played all the time. A ridiculous amount. I was actually pretty damn good for a teenager.

Now I’d be embarrassed to play.

I've met the guy from your gif and his wife a couple of times.

I've played pool since I was really young. Grandfather taught my brothers and me how to play when we would visit a couple of times a year. One of my brothers and I kept with it.

I play league two nights a week. Got started in league play about 14 years ago playing in an APA league in Houston when I was here for work. Played in Baton Rouge for a year then went back to Houston. I've been to Vegas 3 times through league play. Once for scotch doubles, once for team 9 ball and once for teams masters. Going back this October for team 9 ball again.

I'm a 7/7 but really not consistent enough to play to that level. Most people I play against play/practice 7 days a week and spend a lot of that time gambling. I barely play twice a week and never practice.

If you enjoy pool you should look into leagues. I hate playing bar pool because everyone has different rules, but playing league everyone plays by the same rules, you never have someone telling you that you lost because you scratched on the break. And some leagues finish up with their national championships in Vegas.

I'm a basic bitch APA 4, but I've played at "good 5"/"shitty 6" levels. I've barely played over the past ~4 months, but used to play at Buffalo's on the reg. I'd be happy to play anyone that wants to meet up there.

Love to play, got some nice cues. 2-3 drinks in seems to be the sweet spot. It’s a grand game of angle and touch. A gentleman’s game.

I used to enjoy pool a lot more than I do now but I still enjoy the competition. Mostly still play league for the social aspect of it. I've met some amazing players from all walks of life.

I play Wednesdays and Fridays here in Houston/Galveston leagues.

Have friends that play in the Baton Rouge APA leagues and their 8 ball team is heading to Vegas in October too.

It's funny how much my life revolves around pool still. I have friends that go to mosconi cup when it's in Vegas. I really get into it when it's played. It's always fun when we get a handful of us together and play a ring game.

Shooting pool + drinking bourbon is my favorite way to avoid life problems. I can go a solid 2 hours of shooting and feel like ~30 minutes have passed. I'm not saying that it's completely stress free, as I get pissed when I miss easy shots. But it's WAY better than reality.

I love pool

My family used to have a pool table in our upstairs (which I’ve heard is rare)

My dad used to bartend and then go bet his tips and such on pool

I have never once in my life beaten my father in pool

My uncle was insane at pool; I could never beat him. We would play nine-ball, and he would give me 6,7,8,9, and I beat him once with a lucky break. If you didn't run the table, you were screwed. We played eight-ball and he ran the table three times in a row. We would play that he would have to BANK every shot, and I still couldn't beat him, then it went to him having to two-rail every shot, and I barely beat him a couple of times.

He would run the pool halls; we've gone many times and I have never seen him lose.....

Until he came to visit us a few years ago and his arthritis (he's a killer ukulele player) completely destroyed his ability to play pool. We were appalled at how far he had fallen (it was honestly, sad to see). He's 83 now. My brothers and I beat him straight up for the first time ever. His ukulele skills have deteriorated (he could have played professionally - he taught classes for decades - I would surmise that he was at Bruddah Iz's level).

I don't play pool much; sometimes I'm pretty good, other times, I am pure garbage.
