It's kinda cold at the moment but the most fun I've had there during business trips is to go hiking or running at Cattail Marsh Trails, next to the Henry Homberg golf course. Beautiful with lots of birds and wildlife. Watch out for the gators as they like to sun themselves near the path. One scared the crap out of me as I ran by and startled him.

Otherwise, Lupe Tortilla.

I miss that place. Didn't they get busted for prostitution way too many times and went under?

Mark Chestnut, and Tracy Byrd both used to sing at Cutters before they got big. Sadly, Cutters left us many moons ago.

Closest you can get is to go to the Hooters nearby. I think it sat where the Hunters used to be.

Hunters..... Where 20something me used to go to fire on women who were my age NOW.

OP, head to Nederland and eat at Sartin's on Nederland Ave. Order the BBQ crabs. Thank me later.

Sartins is a good place. Also is the old Mexican place (Taco Rey?) still there? Decent food in an OLD house. Cool place. Not a chain either.

OP can go to Port Neches too. Wheelhouse is a cool bar/seafood place. They also have a craft beer microbrew place that I would have killed to have around 15-20 years ago.

We used to all hop the river and go to Vinton, LA. Way too many nights spent at The Horn. This was back before the loophole closed in LA.

it's like the Alexandria of Texas.

Had a coworker today tell me her nephew got sent to Alexandria for a job. I couldn't think of anything good to say other than how long is he gonna be there

I like to think the statute of limitations is up. It's been probably 20 or so years. Lol

If only I had known then to keep my mouth shut when checking out a woman and a big old redneck asked what the hell I was looking at.

I live in Bridge City and I can assure you there's not much to do in Beaumont. Just take the extra hour and go to Houston.
