I'm probably a bit out touch now, but Momus,Comus and Proteus all had major overlap. In the 80's and earlier those were considered the old line, blue blood organizations.
Rex was looked at as just a notch below, but still "good" lol.
I'd imagine Rex is still a bit easier to get into than the others (obviously momus and comus have since stopped parading but still exist as organizations).

One girl I saw was the Queen of Proteus, and a maid in Comus. How blue must that blood be? Also, why do all these frickers go to ACC schools?

Very common. My sister was Queen of Proteus and a maid In Rex. She went to Georgia, not UVA.
One nephew was a page in Proteus and Comus and his little brother was a page in Rex this year.
